Job Summary

To support our extraordinary team who build great products and contribute to our growth, we're looking to add a located in Massachusetts, Littleton.

Reporting to the VP, Design, Process and Technology Engineering the Director of Product Engineering is responsible leader to own and lead the Product Engineering organization. This role is responsible for driving technical rigor, consistency of execution, and scalable engineering processes across multiple engineering disciplines.

The ideal candidate brings deep technical expertise combined with strong product development leadership experience. This leader will define and implement engineering processes that support high-quality, repeatable product delivery, while guiding cross-functional teams from concept through commercialization.

This role emphasizes leading engineering execution within a product development environment, while leveraging technical depth to deliver scalable, high-quality solutions. Experience in liquid cooling systems, infrastructure technologies, or adjacent hardware systems is highly preferred.

What a typical day looks like:

  • Own and lead the Product Engineering organization, including multiple engineering disciplines (e.g., mechanical, systems, thermal, and related functions).
  • Define, implement, and continuously improve engineering processes that drive technical rigor, design quality, and consistent execution across all programs.
  • Lead end-to-end product development from concept through production, ensuring alignment with business objectives, timelines, and customer requirements.
  • Establish and enforce best practices in design reviews, engineering documentation, configuration management, and product lifecycle management.
  • Drive Design for Manufacturability (DFM), reliability, and quality into all stages of product development.
  • Partner cross-functionally with Operations, Supply Chain, and Commercial teams to ensure successful product launches and customer delivery.
  • Build, lead, and develop a high-performing multi-disciplinary engineering organization, including manager-level talent.
  • Serve as a strong communicator and representative of engineering, effectively engaging with senior leadership, customers, and external partners.
  • Ensure alignment between engineering execution and customer needs, maintaining a strong product- and delivery-focused mindset.

The experience we're looking to add to our team:

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or related field (advanced degree a plus).
  • 12+ years of progressive engineering experience, including significant leadership experience in product development environments.
  • Proven experience leading multi-disciplinary engineering teams at scale, including managers and cross-functional groups.
  • Demonstrated success owning product engineering execution, including defining and implementing scalable processes.
  • Strong technical foundation in fluid systems, thermal management, or related hardware/system-level engineering.
  • Experience working in product-driven organizations delivering revenue-generating hardware solutions.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to clearly convey complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Strong program and project management capabilities, with experience driving multiple concurrent initiatives.
  • Experience with industry-standard engineering and simulation tools (e.g., CAD, MATLAB, Ansys, COMSOL, etc.).

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in liquid cooling systems, data center infrastructure, or similar high-performance hardware environments.
  • Demonstrated experience scaling engineering organizations in high-growth environments.
  • Familiarity with product lifecycle management (PLM), stage-gate processes, and manufacturing ramps.
  • Background that includes R&D experience is welcome but should be complemented by strong leadership in product engineering and delivery-focused environments.
