Job description

Responsibilities: 

  • Assemble and lead project based teams to successfully execute assigned projects and facilitate collaboration across departments
  • Full project life cycle ownership: successful project delivery will include full implementation from initiation to deployment ensuring a project is aligned to and directly supports the achievement of strategic objectives
  • Understand interdependencies between technology, operations and business needs
  • Meet with internal and external customers to clarify specific requirements of each project
  • Develop project scopes and objectives involving all relevant stakeholders and ensuring technical feasibility; determine project specifications by studying product design, customer requirements, and performance standards
  • Develop comprehensive project plans
  • Determine project schedule by studying project plan and specifications, calculating time requirements, sequencing project elements
  • Determine project responsibilities by identifying project phases and elements; assigning personnel to phases and elements; delegating project tasks based on personnel strengths, skill sets, and experience levels
  • Measure project performance utilizing appropriate systems, tools, and techniques; maintain project schedule by monitoring project progress, coordinating activities, and resolving problems
  • Meet budgetary objectives and make adjustments to project constraints based on financial analysis
  • Control project plan by reviewing design, specifications, and plan and schedule changes; recommend actions; perform risk management to minimize project risks
  • Determine applicable project documentation requirements and ensure comprehensive documentation of all aspects of a project
  • Develop and deliver progress reports, proposals, requirements documentation and presentations to various audiences, including project team, senior management, and key stakeholders
  • Work creatively and analytically in a problem-solving environment demonstrating teamwork, innovation and excellence
  • Participate in establishing practices, templates, policies, tools and partnerships to expand and mature these capabilities for the organization
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications/Requirements: 

  • Bachelor's degree including a minimum of 5 years of proven work experience in engineering based Project Management OR Other Technical Degree with a minimum 10 years of proven work experience in engineering based Project Management
  • PMP certification
  • Strong leadership, organizational, communication, and motivational skills including the ability to lead up, across and down business and technology organizations
  • Proven ability to work in a fluid environment and collaborate across multiple areas to achieve a common business objective; flexible with proven ability to conform to shifting priorities, demands and timelines through analytical and problem-solving capabilities
  • Experience with process analysis and improvement
  • Demonstrated decisiveness in resolving business problems, making decisions and identifying priorities
  • Strong experience presenting to key stakeholders and senior management
  • Demonstrated communication skills: both written and oral with technical and non-technical staff, all levels of management
  • Technically competent with various engineering based and project management software programs; experience with an Enterprise Resource Planning tool preferred
