Job description

Role Summary:
Flowserve is currently hiring for an Engineering Co-op / Operations Intern for our West Chicago, IL facility.
The ideal candidate will be an individual who shows interest in learning and innovation, enjoys being challenged, and who will add value to the Operations team.
This person will gain an introduction into the fast-paced rotating equipment repair industry by performing the accountabilities listed below.
Location: West Chicago, Illinois
Work schedule: Full time. Mondays to Fridays from 7/7:30/8 am to 4/4:30/5 pm, depending on candidate's availability
Duration: Preferably from January to August 2026.
Responsibilities:
  • Assist with order acquisition and fulfillment, especially related to maintaining a positive customer experience.
  • Support manufacturing team on projects related to cost reduction and process improvement.
  • Work with regional operations leadership to develop standardization initiatives.
  • Develop and acquire basic knowledge of pump and mechanical seal fundamentals to support Flowserve activities.
  • Research and collect serial number-specific equipment information per customer requirements.
  • Create technical customer-facing final job reports and as-found condition reports.
  • Document and update records and drawings related to upgrades of customer equipment.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Requirements:
  • Actively pursuing a degree in Engineering, Mechatronics, Manufacturing Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Engineering Technology, or related curriculum. Must be in good standing.
  • Proficient in basic computer skills, including Microsoft Excel and other Microsoft Office programs.
  • Willingness to learn and to stay focused on the task at hand.
  • Good communication skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
  • Strong work ethic with positive attitude.

Preferred:
  • Comfortable in a shop environment
  • Skilled in SolidWorks.

The pay rate is $25 per hour.
