Under the direction of the Gift Shop Manager, the Gift Shop Clerk is responsible for day-to-day activities of the Gift Shop.
Responsible for cash and credit card retail sales transactions using TAM cash register and reconciliation of daily receipts
Responsible for open and close of gift shop as necessary
Responsible for managing customer requests and complaints in a fast an courteous manner
Responsible to order flowers and prepare carnation bud vases and bows for display in flower cooler
Support volunteer operation and provide excellent customer service
Assist with merchandise control and display as well as gift wrapping items upon request
Assist in maintaining the cleanliness and neatness of the Gift Shop and stockroom
Assist with pricing merchandise and replenishing merchandise as needed
Attend workshops, department meetings and collaborate on special team projects
Answer incoming phone calls, complete phone orders and deliver to information desk
Proficient with the TAM POS (Point of Sale) cash register
Maintain customer satisfaction by displaying exceptional customer service at all times
Education
High School Diploma or equivalent required
Experience
5 Years preferred.
• Five years of retail experience preferred.
Qualifications
• Must be mature and demonstrate good judgment.
• Must communicate effectively.
• Must be honest and trustworthy.
• Must present a professional image.
• Competent in use of cash register.
