About Willow & Thistle:
Willow & Thistle is a premier floral design studio that specializes in creating beautiful, bespoke arrangements for weddings, events, and everyday celebrations. Located at the Normandy Farm Hotel & Conference Center in Blue Bell, PA, we pride ourselves on using high-quality, fresh flowers and delivering designs that delight and inspire.


Position Overview:
We are seeking a creative, passionate, and experienced Floral Designer to join our team on a part-time seasonal, hourly basis. This position is designed to support our busy fall wedding and event season, with an anticipated schedule from approximately August through December. The Floral Designer will create custom floral arrangements for weddings, corporate events, and special occasions while upholding our high standards of design, craftsmanship, quality, and customer service. The ideal candidate is a collaborative team player with a strong work ethic, excellent attention to detail, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, production-driven environment. Flexibility to work weekends and extended hours during peak event periods is required.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Floral Arrangement Design: Create unique, aesthetically pleasing floral arrangements for weddings, corporate events, parties, and other special occasions.
  • Client Consultations: Work with Sales Manager to understand the client’s vision, preferences, and event themes. Provide expert advice and recommendations on flower choices, colors, and designs.
  • Floral Preparation and Assembly: Prepare and assemble bouquets, centerpieces, corsages, boutonnieres, and other floral pieces based on client orders and specifications.
  • Inventory Management: Monitor inventory levels of flowers and supplies, ensuring that stock is well-maintained and fresh. Assist with ordering flowers and materials as needed.
  • Event Set-Up: Help with event set-up on location (Normandy Farm Hotel & Conference Center, Blue Bell Country Club or other event venues). This may include assisting and arranging flowers at the event site.
  • Maintain Studio Cleanliness: Keep the floral studio organized, clean, and safe. Ensure tools, supplies, and flowers are stored properly.
  • Collaborative Teamwork: Work alongside other designers and staff to ensure timely execution and a seamless customer experience.
Requirements:
  • Previous experience in floral design or a strong passion for floral art and creativity.
  • Knowledge of flower types, color theory, and design principles.
  • Strong attention to detail and a commitment to quality craftsmanship.
  • Excellent customer service and communication skills.
  • Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment with occasional evening and weekend hours.
  • Reliable, punctual, and able to manage time effectively.
  • Must be able to lift moderate weight (up to 25 pounds) and perform physical tasks like bending, lifting, and arranging flowers.
  • A positive attitude and the ability to collaborate well in a team setting.
