Senior Mechanical Estimator - HVAC, Plumbing & Piping | Relocation Assistance Available | $95,000-$120,000
Drive the success of major mechanical construction projects by developing accurate estimates, shaping winning bid strategies, and helping deliver profitable HVAC, plumbing, and piping solutions for a company with over 70 years of industry stability. What You'll Do
Lead estimating efforts for complex mechanical construction projects from early design concepts through final bid submission.
Responsibilities include:
  • Prepare detailed HVAC, plumbing, and mechanical piping estimates for projects at various stages of development.
  • Review construction drawings, specifications, and project documents to develop accurate and competitive pricing.
  • Perform design calculations and assist with equipment, material, and system selections.
  • Analyze labor requirements, material costs, subcontractor pricing, and project risks.
  • Identify cost-saving opportunities and strategies to improve bid competitiveness.
  • Review vendor and subcontractor proposals and incorporate pricing into final estimates.
  • Build strong relationships with general contractors, suppliers, subcontractors, and project stakeholders.
  • Participate in pre-bid meetings, turnover meetings, and project planning discussions.
  • Develop labor budgets and support project teams after contract award.
  • Assist with bid tracking, bid reviews, bid bonds, and procurement of project documents.
  • Mentor Estimator Trainees and contribute to the development of the estimating team.
What You Bring
  • Strong knowledge of HVAC, plumbing, and mechanical piping systems.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, specifications, and construction documents.
  • Understanding of applicable mechanical and plumbing codes.
  • Experience with estimating tools such as AutoBid, Bluebeam, and Excel.
  • Strong analytical, communication, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to balance strategic thinking with attention to detail.
  • Bachelor's degree in a technical discipline, or equivalent industry experience.
  • 5+ years of mechanical estimating experience OR 10+ years of HVAC, plumbing, or mechanical piping field experience.
