Floor staff, often known as floor associates or floor team members, are employees who work in the main area of a business such as a restaurant, retail store, or entertainment venue. Their primary responsibilities include assisting customers, maintaining cleanliness, restocking items, and ensuring a positive customer experience. They often serve as the first point of contact for customer inquiries and play a key role in the smooth operation of the business. Floor staff may also handle basic sales transactions and help with inventory management.

You’ll usually supervise a team of sales associates, coordinate shift schedules, and handle customer inquiries or escalations. Collaboration is key, as you’ll work closely with inventory teams, department heads, and upper management to meet sales targets and maintain store standards. Strong leadership and communication skills are essential to foster a positive, productive work environment.
