Special Procedures/Unit Details : 3 South is a 19-bed private room medical-surgical unit specializing in the care of patients with neurological and stroke-related conditions. The unit serves young adult through geriatric patients, with priority admission given to individuals requiring medical-surgical level monitoring, interventions, and specialized neurological care. The primary patient population includes patients with acute ischemic and hemorrhagic stroke, transient ischemic attacks (TIA), seizure disorders, traumatic brain injury, and other neurological and neurosurgical diagnoses, as well as select medical and surgical patients. 3 South is equipped with continuous telemetry and pulse oximetry monitoring to support early recognition of changes in patient condition. The interdisciplinary team is committed to providing evidence-based, patient-centered care focused on neurological assessment, stroke recovery, secondary stroke prevention, and optimizing functional outcomes.
