Job description

Overview

The Flight Operationsand Safety Program Manager will support the development, implementation, andenhancement of safety, training, and operational initiatives at CirrusAircraft. This role will collaborate with internal and external stakeholders toanalyze flight data, improve training programs, and manage safety strategies.The successful candidate will work closely with leadership to shape operationalpriorities and integrate key safety initiatives across the pilot and flightinstructor groups.

Responsibilities

FOQA Establishment:

  • Lead the design and implementation of the company's Flight Operations Quality Assurance (FOQA) program.
  • Work closely with the Chief Pilot, Flight Operations Directors, Director of Air Safety, and VP of Human Resources to ensure alignment and a smooth program launch.

Training Program Improvement:

  • Collaborate with the Director of Air Safety, Flight Operations leadership, Training Program Managers, and the Director of Training Development to identify and recommend improvements to existing training programs based on accident/incident and FOQA data.
  • Develop a data-driven "Top 5 Training Program Improvements" list, updated annually or as needed based on critical safety findings.
  • Champion the implementation of safety initiatives designed to reduce identified areas of concern.

Cirrus Data Analysis and Fleet Performance:

  • Advise the Cirrus IQ team on the development and analysis of fleet performance data, ensuring alignment with training program needs.
  • Establish, implement, and oversee an internal FOQA program across all Cirrus pilot groups.

Safety Threat Mitigation:

  • Partner with Flight Operations, company pilot groups, and location leaders to identify safety threats specific to each location or pilot group.
  • Advise on mitigation strategies and ensure safety insights are incorporated into training and flight operations programs.
Qualifications Required:
  • Bachelor's degree in Aviation, Aeronautical Science, or equivalent work experience.
  • Demonstrated experience building and managing a FOQA program, or a minimum of 4-7 years of experience in flight operations management or safety program management.
  • Strong analytical skills, with a focus on statistical analysis (e.g., ANOVA) and experience working with FOQA/FDM data.
  • Excellent communication and leadership abilities with experience collaborating across multiple departments.
Preferred Experience:
  • FAA Commercial Pilot License.
  • Previous experience with collegiate aviation programs or airline operations.
  • Proficiency with Power BI or other data visualization tools.
