Responsibilities:

  • Execute buy and sell orders efficiently and accurately across various platforms (e.g., Bloomberg, Thomson Beta, BondDesk, FLEXTrade) while managing liquidity and bid-ask spreads in $25 Par Securities, $1,000 par / Hybrid preferred securities.
  • Conduct in-depth research using technical and fundamental analysis to identify profitable opportunities, predict market trends, and create marketing analysis to the field.
  • Set stop-loss and take-profit levels, employ hedging strategies, and ensure all activity stays within strictly defined risk parameters.
  • Continuously monitor and rebalance open positions to align with a firm’s risk tolerance and investment goals.
  • Ensure all trades adhere to internal policies and external regulations, such as those from FINRA. 

Qualifications & Skills:

  • A bachelor’s degree in finance, Economics, or Mathematics is preferred.
  • Series 7, 57, 63, or 66 are strongly preferred or required within the first few months of employment.
  • 3-5+ of trading or investment management experience.
  • Proficiency in Bloomberg, BondDesk, TradeWeb, Thomson/BETA, MarketAxess.
  • The ability to process large amounts of complex data quickly to make informed real-time decisions.
  • Maintaining composure and decisiveness in fast-paced, high-stress environments.
  • Strong numerical skills for mental calculations and understanding complex financial problems.
  • Ability to clearly and succinctly convey market insights to stakeholders, portfolio managers, and clients.
