What is flexographic printing?

Flexographic printing is a modern printing process that uses flexible relief plates made of rubber or photopolymer to transfer ink onto a variety of substrates, including paper, plastic, film, and foil. It is commonly used for packaging materials, labels, and other products that require high-speed, high-volume production. This method is valued for its efficiency, versatility, and ability to print on non-porous materials. Flexographic printing presses can use water-based, solvent-based, or UV-curable inks, making them suitable for different applications and environmental requirements.

What skills and qualifications are needed to thrive as a flexographic printing operator?

To thrive as a Flexographic Printing Operator, you need a solid understanding of printing processes, color theory, and machinery operation, often supported by vocational training or relevant certifications. Familiarity with flexographic presses, plate mounting systems, ink mixing equipment, and quality control tools is typically required.
