Position Summary
This position is responsible for developing and executing tests on new and existing products to ensure that they meet the requisite functional, technical, and regulatory compliance and maintain high overall product quality. From hand-held tablet devices to Las Vegas style gaming cabinets, our array of products is diverse and advanced. Interface with Game/System Development and other Product Development staff to resolve issues in a timely manner. Also responsible for having proficient understanding of the software test methodologies and procedures in order to ensure testing efficiency and high level of quality. Will participate in mentoring Associate SQA Engineers. Organize and lead inter-departmental project meetings. This is an onsite role in our Chicago Studio.
Primary Roles and Responsibilities
  • Develop, review and execute test plans and scripts for new and existing game themes and systems
  • Submit and track issues found during testing to ensure that they are resolved
  • Follow Work Instructions on a daily basis and assist other SQA Engineers with these functions
  • Plan and execute detailed Test Strategy and Test Plan for each project, review and verify execution for projects assigned to all team SQA Engineers
  • Interface with the Software Engineering Department and other members of the Product Support Engineering Department to resolve all reported issues before the gaming product is released. Assist other SQA Engineers in this area with their projects
  • Attend and lead Integration and SQA handoff meetings
  • Establish and manage all required databases for SQA functions and testing.
  • Responsible for all project escalations for each assigned project
  • Mentor and lead multiple SQA Engineers on multiple projects
  • Review project hardware requirements and ensure that necessary hardware is in place for each assigned project
  • Provide a weekly project status report for each project assigned to the team
  • Establish key contacts with upstream organizations that have a direct impact on SQA Product Management, Systems Engineering, System Development, and Game Development
  • Organizing and lead project team meetings and reviews

Requirements
Experience and Education
  • 7+ years of relevant SQA work experience
  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or Computer Science preferred
  • Experience in leading SQA teams through a projects complete test life cycle
  • Experience in deriving system test plans/cases from system requirements
  • Knowledge and experience using Visual Studio
  • Academic and/or work experience with C/C++/C# and/or Unity
  • Software Test methodology and product development lifecycle
  • Automation experience is a plus

Preferred Skills
  • Position requires excellent written and oral communication skills; ability to effectively communicate and collaborate with other team members
  • Gaming industry experience preferred
  • Ability to lead and mentor multiple projects and SQA Engineers simultaneously
  • Advanced time management and organizational skills
  • Capable of providing input and solutions on specific or project wide issues
  • Ability to evaluate SQA Engineer performance and provide feedback to Manager
  • Detailed oriented and capable of working and leading with minimal supervision
  • Able to work and deliver in a fast paced, deadline-oriented environment
  • Real-time embedded systems and/or gaming experience preferred
  • Expertise with TestRail and JIRA
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, SQL
  • Proficiency of Agile methodologies
  • Knowledge or experience with Perl or other shell scripting language is a plus
  • Results oriented, risk taking and extensive multi-tasking ability
