Position Overview

We are currently seeking a dedicated and licensed Trauma-Focused Mental Health Counselor to join our compassionate team at Person-centered Psychology Services. This full-time remote position emphasizes trauma-informed care, allowing you to provide essential therapeutic support to individuals navigating the challenges of trauma recovery. Work Environment

This position is fully remote, allowing for a flexible work-life balance while serving patients through our telehealth services. Although the work is conducted virtually, we maintain a collaborative and supportive team dynamic through regular online meetings and case consultations. You'll utilize secure electronic health record (EHR) systems to manage patient information, ensuring compliance with legal standards and maintaining confidentiality.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct comprehensive, trauma-informed mental health assessments to evaluate patients' trauma histories and develop appropriate, individualized treatment approaches.
  • Formulate and implement personalized treatment plans that emphasize trauma recovery and the development of coping strategies for resilience.
  • Provide evidence-based therapeutic interventions, specifically Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) and Trauma-Focused Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT), to facilitate emotional healing and processing.
  • Deliver individual and group therapy sessions that foster connections among participants and promote an understanding of trauma-related experiences.
  • Collaborate with psychiatrists and other healthcare professionals to deliver integrated care tailored to each patientโ€™s unique needs.
  • Offer crisis intervention support in urgent situations, ensuring patient safety and emotional support during traumatic episodes.
  • Educate patients and their families regarding trauma responses, helpful coping mechanisms, and available mental health resources.
  • Maintain comprehensive, accurate, and confidential documentation of patient interactions and treatment plans in compliance with ethical and legal standards.
  • Engage in team meetings and professional development activities that focus on advancing trauma-informed care best practices.
  • Stay informed about current research and methodologies related to trauma therapy to enhance treatment efficacy.
Patient Population / Client Focus

Your primary focus will be on individuals who have experienced trauma, with a strong emphasis on helping those with post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), complex trauma, and dissociative disorders. You will play a vital role in supporting clients from diverse backgrounds, fostering an atmosphere of trust, empathy, and hope while facilitating transformative healing experiences.

Qualifications
  • A Master's or Doctoral degree in Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Mental Health Counseling, or Psychology from an accredited institution.
  • Current and valid state licensure as an LCSW, LPC, or LMFT.
  • A minimum of 2 years of post-licensure experience preferred, with a strong foundation in trauma-informed care.
  • In-depth knowledge of trauma-related disorders and effective therapeutic modalities tailored to trauma recovery.
  • Demonstrated experience in delivering trauma-focused therapies and interventions.
  • Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, fostering a compassionate and non-judgmental therapeutic environment.
  • Ability to maintain composure and professionalism in high-stress situations.
  • Proficiency in utilizing electronic health record (EHR) systems and related software applications.
  • Strong collaborative skills to effectively work as part of a multidisciplinary team.
Preferred Experience

Experience working with marginalized communities, as well as familiarity with culturally sensitive approaches to mental health treatment, is highly desirable. Knowledge of additional therapeutic modalities and certification in trauma-informed practices will be advantageous.
