Job description

Position Summary:


The Student Activities Coordinator plays a key role in cultivating a strong sense of belonging and creating a vibrant studentlife experience at Ensign College. This position focuses on bringing students together through engaging events, meaningfulinteractions, and intentional outreach-particularly supporting the successful transition and integration of new studentsinto campus life.
Student Activities Coordinators are expected to uphold a high standard of conduct, academic performance, andprofessionalism. Work hours are flexible and designed to accommodate academic schedules, typically ranging from 15-19hours per week, with variations based on programming needs.


Primary Responsibilities:

  • Plan, coordinate, and execute campus-wide events that foster connection, engagement, and school spirit
  • Assist in organizing major events such as New Student Orientation, graduation activities, and campus traditions
  • Promote student involvement by actively inviting and engaging peers in activities and programs
  • Collaborate with Student Life staff and fellow coordinators to support and execute events
  • Partner with campus departments to coordinate, market, and enhance programming efforts
  • Support student communication efforts through social media, digital signage, and other platforms
  • Assist with club coordination and engagement initiatives
  • Maintain organization, cleanliness, and readiness of student spaces, including the Summit
  • Identify student needs and contribute to solutions that enhance the overall student experience

Expectations:


Student Activities Coordinators are expected to:

  • Be proactive and reliable: Take initiative, meet deadlines, and follow through on assignments with minimalsupervision
  • Demonstrate professionalism: Represent Ensign College positively in all interactions with students, staff, andfaculty
  • Communicate effectively: Maintain clear, timely, and respectful communication with team members andsupervisors
  • Collaborate as a team player: Support peers, contribute ideas, and actively participate in team meetings andplanning sessions
  • Be adaptable: Respond positively to changing priorities, event needs, and feedback
  • Engage consistently: Attend assigned events, trainings, and meetings, including occasional evenings and weekends
  • Uphold standards: Maintain strong academic performance and adhere to the Honor Code and institutional values
  • Focus on inclusion: Foster an environment where all students feel welcomed, valued, and encouraged toparticipate

Compensation & Hours:

  • Hours: 15-19 hours per week during the semester
  • Wage: Starting at $14.00/hour, with the opportunity for a $0.25 increase each semester based on performance

Qualifications:

  • Currently enrolled at Ensign College with a minimum of 6 credit hours and in good academic standing
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to build positive relationships with students, staff, and faculty
  • Self-motivated, dependable, and detail-oriented
  • Strong organizational, planning, and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Experience with event planning or leadership roles preferred
  • Proficiency in Office 365 and Canvas
  • Willingness to work flexible hours, including evenings and occasional weekends
  • Desire to serve and positively impact the campus community
