Position Overview

The Program Manager will serve as a key leader within the AMAT Performance Group, driving prioritization, program execution, and value realization. This individual will spearhead the growth of our autonomous quarrying and haulage initiatives, with a focus on piloting, deployment, stakeholder alignment, and integration into CRH quarry operations.

While CRH is in the early stages of this advancement, we are exploring the potential to integrate autonomous quarrying and haulage across a number of sites.  The goal is to improve operational performance, enhance safety, and create scalable value for the business through the testing, deployment, and operationalization of autonomous technologies.  When implemented effectively, autonomous systems can improve safety, increase production efficiency, reduce maintenance costs and make future mining methods more sustainable.

Job Location

This a remote role and can be located anywhere in the continental United States.

Key Responsibilities (Essential Duties and Functions)

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.

  • Leading the coordinated efforts to test and deploy autonomous vehicle deployment across several sites across the US.
  • End-to-end project management for autonomous mining technology deployments (piloting, to operationalization).
  • Coordinating with OEMs and internal stakeholders to ensure successful integration of autonomous systems.
  • Develop and manage project plans, budgets, risk assessments, and timelines.
  • Ensure compliance with safety, environmental, and regulatory standards.
  • Preparing the deployment Roadmap, including schedule, resourcing and business case for wider adoption of autonomous haulage, considering the inter-dependencies required to undertake such a challenging initiative.
  • Coordinate across multiple teams to ensure smooth integration of autonomous systems into existing operations.
  • Drive alignment among diverse stakeholders to achieve project objectives
  • Integrate safety protocols and compliance standards into all aspects of the project
 Qualifications

Education/Experience

  • Bachelorโ€™s degree in Engineering, and/or an equivalent degree program or experience.
  • 5 or more years of experience in project or program management, with a strong preference on mining operational experience and a technical aptitude for autonomous systems or digital mining projects.

Additional Requirements

  • Approximately 50% travel (including International) with the ability to work in dynamic, often remote or on-site mining environments.

Knowledge/Skill Requirements

The ideal candidate will demonstrate:

  • Proven experience with AHS, autonomous drills, or remote operations centers is highly desirable.
  • Experience in large-scale technology rollouts in challenging environments is advantageous.
  • Proven experience leading teams.
  • Experienced in managing stakeholder expectations. communication, and leading stakeholder meetings
  • Ability to work in remote environments and travel to site as required.
  • The ability to influence business leaders and facilitate change, balancing drive for continuous improvement with respect for local company culture.

Work Environment

Normal office working conditions in addition to industrial plant sites and quarries, requiring the usage of personal protective equipment, e.g. hard hat, steel-toed boots, and safety glasses.

  • Able to work in all weather conditions.
  • Ability to drive up to 8 hours for onsite services and meetings.
  • The position may require work outside of normal business hours in response to critical incidents or business-impacting project deliverables.
  • The employee is occasionally exposed to moving mechanical parts; high, precarious places; outside weather conditions; and risk of electrical shock or burn.
  • While performing the duties of the job, the employee may be occasionally exposed to fumes or airborne particles and toxic or caustic chemicals.
  • The noise level in some areas of the work environment may be loud but is typically moderate.
