We are seeking a passionate hospitality professional who is looking for a long-term role where they can truly make a difference in a community-focused service environment. This position offers the opportunity to build relationships with residents, contribute to a welcoming atmosphere, and help shape memorable experiences for our members.
 
General Purpose
Oversees functions related to alcoholic beverage service, including recipe development, inventory management, cost control, bartender training, drink pricing, and product ordering. Serves as the primary bartender and shift lead, supporting daily restaurant operations while ensuring exceptional service to members and guests.
 
This hybrid role works both behind the bar and in an operational leadership capacity, assisting management with staff coordination, maintaining service standards, and ensuring smooth day-to-day operations. The position plays a key role in maintaining beverage quality, fostering a positive team environment, and delivering a welcoming hospitality experience for our community. While weekends are an important part of our hospitality schedule, our environment offers the benefit of no late nights, benefits, shift meals, and more. This will be the first person in this position here—come help us shape the future of our food and beverage program!
 
Pay: $23 - $26 per hour
 
Essential Duties
• Develops and maintains drink recipes and seasonal beverage offerings.
• Maintains appropriate inventory levels of beer, liquor, and wine.
• Manages and assists with ordering all alcohol and mixers.
• Notifies the Chef of produce needs for beverage preparation.
• Works with the Marketing Department to develop social media content and provide timely updates about beverage features, events, or promotions.
• Assists the Director of Food & Beverage with drink pricing and beverage program development.
• Maintains up-to-date knowledge of all state liquor laws and responsible alcohol service requirements.
• Implements cost control procedures and monitors beverage costs.
• Serves guests and members at the bar while maintaining high standards of hospitality and professionalism.
• Assists with overseeing bar operations for on-site events and occasional off-site catering events.
• Maintains accuracy and accountability for all check and cash transactions.
• Ensures opening and closing procedures are completed, and all checklists are maintained.
• Maintains cleanliness, organization, and presentation of the bar area.
• Assists with scheduling bartenders and cocktail servers when needed.
• Assists with training Food & Beverage associates in responsible alcohol service and bar procedures.
• Supports management as a shift lead by helping coordinate service flow and assisting team members during busy periods.
• Communicates guest feedback, requests, and concerns to the Director of Food & Beverage in a timely manner.
• Incorporates safe work practices into job performance.
• Maintains regular and reliable attendance, including availability on weekends.
• Performs other duties as required.
 
Education / Experience
Certificate from a college, technical school, or accredited facility; or three to six months of related experience and/or training; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
 
Preferred Requirements
• Bachelor’s degree in Hospitality, Business Administration, or a related field
• Previous leadership or supervisory experience in a bar or restaurant environment
• Experience with restaurant POS systems (e.g., POSITOUCH, MICROS)
• Experience with reservation systems, inventory controls, scheduling/labor management, and beverage cost controls
• Experience in purchasing, inventory management, sanitation, security, company policies and procedures, personnel management, recordkeeping, and preparation of reports
 
Physical Demands
Frequently stands, walks, tastes, smells, talks, hears, uses hands, and reaches with hands and arms. Occasionally sits, climbs, balances, stoops, kneels, crawls, or crouches. Occasionally lifts up to 50 pounds. Must be available to work flexible hours, including weekends.
 
Environment / Noise
Occasionally works in wet or humid conditions (non-weather), near moving mechanical parts, near fumes or airborne particles, with toxic or caustic chemicals, and in extreme heat or cold (non-weather). The noise level is moderate.
 
Certificates / Licenses
• ServSafe Certified (Food & Alcohol) or TIPS equivalent
• Food Safety and applicable sanitation training
• Alcohol awareness training
