Job description

Stock Yards Bancorp, Inc. (NASDAQ: SYBT), parent company of Stock Yards Bank & Trust Company, with offices in Louisville, Central, Eastern and Northern Kentucky, as well as the Indianapolis, Indiana and Cincinnati, Ohio metropolitan markets.
Job Title: Enterprise Automation Engineer I
FLSA Status: Exempt
Department: Enterprise Automation
Hours of Operation: M - F, 8am - 5pm
General Job Summary:
Contributes to the design, development, and support of automated business processes across the organization. This role builds reliable automations, performs testing and documentation, and supports production operations under the guidance of senior engineers to help increase efficiency, reduce manual work, and improve productivity.
Organizational Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Supports the mission, vision, and philosophy of the Bank and Trust areas
  • Complies with all organizational policies and procedures

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Monitor automation health; triage incidents; perform root-cause analysis and deploy fixes
  • Maintain runbooks, documentation, and configuration; adhere to governance controls
  • Implement small-to-medium automations using approved tools and patterns; follow SDLC and change-management procedures
  • Participate in process discovery and requirements gathering; translate user stories into technical tasks
  • Develop integrations using APIs, files, and queues; build resilient error handling and retry logic
  • Create unit and functional tests; validate non-functional requirements
  • Contribute to continuous improvement through ticket hygiene, code reviews, and standards

Other Functions:
  • Attend meetings and support cross-team collaboration as needed

Working Conditions:
  • Works in office, computer room and conference rooms.
  • Minimal travel required.

Minimum Job Requirements:
Education: Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
Experience:
  • 0-2 years in automation, application development, or operations
  • Familiarity with enterprise automation tools (UiPath, Blue Prism, Power Automate)
  • Basic proficiency with scripting/programming (Python, C#, JavaScript), SQL, REST APIs
  • Understanding of secure development practices and credential management
  • Experience with observability/monitoring tools and log analysis

  • Systems thinking and architectural judgment.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities efficiently
  • Commitment to continuous improvement and operational excellence

Certifications (Preferred): UiPath, Blue Prism, or Microsoft Power Automate RPA Developer
