The Mechanical Engineer II will report to the Lead Engineer for Co-Generation and Advanced BOP Mechanical & Chemical Process Engineering responsible for performing engineering for us ensuring standards and industry-specific engineering activities are met.ย  You will bean individual contributor fully proficient applying establishyed stadards and knowledge-base from years of experience in a particular area working independently.

This position is hybrid at the discretion of the manager requiring 2 days/week on-site at the Westinghouse facility in Rock Hill, SC or Westinghouse Global Headquarters facility in Cranberry Woods, PA in the Greater Pittsburgh Area.ย  No relocation will be provided for this position.ย  We can entertain candidates authorized to work without sponsorship now and in the future as we are unable to sponsor Visa's for this opportunity.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Tasks for engineering, procurement and implementation maintaining long-term operations of existing power plants including legacy Westinghouse designs

  • Design thermal-fluid systems, equipment sizing and specification, procurement package development, incorporation of supplier data, and coordination for integrated engineering

  • Engineering design development, site walkdowns, interpret design drawings, manage design changes, and respond to support requests

  • Collect and compile data for design development, technical summaries, and project reports

  • Assist w/ proposals,ย labor & material estimates and design packagesย 

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering

  • 3-6 years' experience

  • Mechanical engineering design codes and standards like ASME, ASTM, ANSI, ASHRAE, HEI

  • Impact relationships of other disciplines' drawings on design like Electrical, Civil, and Structural

  • Willing to work towards EIT/FE

  • Able to maintain unescorted access to power plants

  • Ability to travel

Annually Paid: We are committed to transparency and equity in all of our people practices. The base salary range for this position, which is dependent upon experience, qualifications and skills, is estimated to be $69,200 to $86,500 per year.
