• Prepare workstations with supplies, foods, and condiments

• Focus ondeliveringexceptional food quality for all meals prepared

• Inspect and clean all food preparation areas

• Strictly abide by standards set forth byServSafe, state and local regulations, company policy, and other food regulatory standards that may apply atAdventureland

• Becomeknowledgeable ofallfood productsand ingredientsused

• Weigh, measure, and mix ingredients using various kitchen utensils and equipment season and cook food according to recipes or personal judgment

• Assistwith basic food preparation, such as washing, peeling, slicing,fruitsand vegetables

• Utilize ovens, fryers, broilers, griddles, mixers, and knives to prepare food (age restrictions may apply)

• Ensure foodand ingredients arebeingproperlystoredatthe correcttemperatures

• Seasons and cooks each item according to the recipe and menu

• Plate thepreparedfood appropriately

• Pre-portion individual packaging sauces, sandwiches, salads, and other items

• Label and track life of stored food to ensure suitable food safety and quality

• Rotate food items out of storage by using the newly prepped items last

• Assistwithmanagingkitchen inventory and replenishing food items that were used

• Communicate with the kitchen staff to ensurea high levelof safety andefficiency

• Maintain a safe, clean, and organized work environment

• Sweep and mop floors within the food preparation areas, to ensure that food residue does not accumulate

• Ensure that all work areas,foodand equipment/utensils used are cleaned,stowedand secured in preparation for the next day's work,in accordance withstate and local sanitation protocols

• All other duties assigned by leadership

Education and Experience:

• No education requirements for thisposition

• Culinary arts education a plus, but notrequired

• 1+yearofpreviousexperience as a chef, cook, or another culinary-related role highly desired, but notrequired.

Language:Ability to read, write, and speak fluent English Spanish or other bilingual language skills are a plus.

Requirements:

• Must be at least18years of age tocomply withIowaChild Labor Laws

• Ability to work flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, and holidays

• Musthave reliable transportation to and from your scheduled shift

• Ability tocomply withall uniform policies

• Mustpossessexceptional customer service skills, with an ability to resolve questions, problems, issues, and concerns in a positive and professional manner

• Mustpossesssafety-oriented mindset and understand the importance ofcomplying withall state, and local food preparation and serving regulations

• Ability to use kitchen equipment, knives, and appliances in a safe and effective manner

• Mustpossessa general knowledge and interest in food preparation or culinary arts

• Ability to follow direction, multi-task, and work as part of a team as well as independently

Physical Requirements:

• Ability to stand, walk, and remain on feet for majority of the workday

• Ability tofrequentlystoop, twist, kneel, bend, squat, or reach above shoulders

• Ability to withstand heat and humidity from the food preparation equipment

• Ability to carry, push, pull, lift, and hold objects weighing 30 pounds or more

• Ability to use a step ladder in a safe and proper manner

Working Conditions:

• This role willpredominantly bebased in a kitchen environment

• Potential to be asked to work in other indoor or outdoor areas of the park, as needed

• Some exposure to the variable outside temperatures, including high heat, cold, direct sun, humidity, dust, rain, snow, ice, and other weather conditions

• Subject to the handling of and exposure to oils, chemicals, detergents, and cleaners (age restrictions apply)

• Subject to frequent interruptions, constant repetitive motion, high noise levels, and heavily populated environments
