Job description

We're seeking a talented Unity VR Developer with a passion for educational technology to create engaging and functional VR games using Unity and the Meta XR All-in-One SDK. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a flexible, fast-paced environment and is excited to help shape the future of immersive education. Strong teamwork experience and the ability to collaborate effectively within a multidisciplinary team are essential for this role.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement game features and mechanics using Unity, with a focus on VR development
  • Collaborate with designers, artists, and other developers to translate game concepts and ideas into functional and engaging gameplay.
  • Create and maintain scripts for various game systems, including gameplay mechanics, UI elements, and interactive features.
  • Participate in regular team meetings and contribute to project planning and execution.
  • Debug and troubleshoot issues related to game functionality and performance.
  • Optimize game performance and ensure a high-quality user experience across different platforms.
  • Contribute to the overall development process, from initial design through to deployment and maintenance.

Required Qualifications

  • Experience with Meta Quest / Meta XR SDK or other VR systems.
  • Experience working collaboratively within a team environment, with effective communication and teamwork skills.
  • Familiarity with version control systems (e.g., Github) and project management tools.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot complex issues.
  • Experience with performance profiling and optimization in Unity.

Desired Skills

  • Knowledge of VR hardware, including headsets (Oculus, HTC Vive), controllers, and tracking systems.
  • Proficiency in Unity and C# scripting.
  • Familiarity with educational game development and integrating learning objectives into gameplay.
  • Strong understanding of VR interaction mechanics.
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Game Development, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
  • Previous involvement in projects that feature porting to VR, PC desktop games.
