Job Description

Position: Computer Operator

Location: Quincy, Washington

Duration: 6 Months


Job Description:

Main Responsibilities: 

Assists in entering commands on computer and peripheral equipment to execute basic job production applications in accordance with defined procedures. 

Assists in entering commands on computers, tape drives, printers, data communications equipment and plotters to integrate and operate equipment. 

Initializes tapes; loads and unloads tapes to facilitate and maintain production. 

Sets up printers for routine jobs; loads printers with selected materials such as paper or ink cartridges to facilitate continued production. 

Observes computer and peripheral equipment; identifies concerns; escalates as appropriate. 

Assists in labeling and organizing output and backup tapes in accordance with prescribed guidelines. 

Monitors levels of supplies and reports supply levels to supervisor for resolution. 

Experience with computer systems, system job control language and desktop computer software. 

Basic analytical and problem solving skills.


Qualifications

High School Diploma with 3 to 5 years' experience.
