Job description

Columbus Distributing Company is a family-owned sales and service corporation proudly distributing Anheuser-Busch, Yuengling, craft, and imported beers throughout Franklin County, Ohio. We are seeking a dependable and customer-focused Beverage Merchandiser to support the execution of our products in retail accounts throughout the market. This position plays a key role in maintaining attractive product displays, ensuring proper product rotation, and building strong relationships with customers to enhance the visibility and availability of our portfolio. The Beverage Merchandiser works closely with the Sales and Operations teams to ensure accounts are fully stocked, promotional displays are properly executed, and customers receive exceptional service. The ideal candidate is self-motivated, detail-oriented, and enjoys working independently in a fast-paced environment.
  • Deliver, assemble, stock, and maintain beer displays at grocery stores, convenience stores, bars, restaurants, and other retail accounts.
  • Merchandise shelves, coolers, and displays to company standards while ensuring products are properly rotated and code-date compliant.
  • Build and maintain positive relationships with customers by providing exceptional service and responding to account needs.
  • Install and maintain point-of-sale materials, signage, and promotional displays to maximize product visibility.
  • Organize backroom inventory and break down bulk deliveries to maintain efficient product storage and replenishment.
  • Transport products using a two-wheel hand cart while maintaining a clean and safe work environment.
  • Attend sales meetings, training sessions, and company events as required.
  • Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

  • Must be at least 21 years of age with a valid driver's license and an acceptable driving record.
  • Must maintain automobile insurance that meets state law and company requirements.
  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Previous beverage industry, merchandising, retail, or customer service experience preferred but not required.
  • Strong verbal communication and customer service skills.
  • Ability to work independently while effectively managing multiple accounts and priorities.
  • Must have a personal cell phone with data capability; a monthly cell phone allowance will be provided.
  • Must be able to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays, as business needs require.
  • Ability to lift up to 30 pounds overhead and repeatedly move beer kegs weighing up to 170 pounds.
  • Ability to safely operate a two-wheel hand cart and work in a physically demanding environment.
