About the Position:

Reporting to the Team Leader, the Welding Cell Operator will be responsible for but not limited to:

  • Producing quality parts on time through efficient and accurate use of the robotic welder.
  • Analyzes the production drawing to determine what fixtures are needed in order to create the required piece.
  • Designs a fixture in Solidworks for use with the robot to create the parts indicated in the quantities required.
  • Sources material from the Detail Plant or around the shop to create and build the fixture.
  • Installs the fixture in the robot cell. Loads the required parts in the robot.
  • Programs the machine to run in automatic or manual cycle.
  • Performs routine maintenance on the robot.
  • Ensures everything is loaded into the robot correctly and the proper program is set. Properly unloads completed pieces.

Position Requirements:

  • Post secondary education in Welding Robotics, Welding/Fabrication or related field.
  • 2 years experience working with robotic welding equipment.
  • Understanding of Welding and Fitting
  • Basic understanding of Programming
  • Knowledge of fixture design
  • Knowledge of touch sensing and seam tracking
  • Ability to operate overhead cranes and forklifts
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints and procedures.
  • A team player, who can interrelate and operate effectively with peers and other associates within a collegial, yet demanding, work environment

  • Wage: $23.00-$29.00/Hour
