Position Description:

Participates in automation development using Java or SQL, and conducts testing of distributed applications across multiple layers of the technology stack, using Cucumber, Git, and Jenkins. Performs Web Services testing with REST Assured and Postman. Contributes to all phases of the Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC) -- planning, analysis, design, coding, system and user testing, and issue resolution. Leveraging Test-Driven Development (TDD), Continuous Integration/Continuous Deployment (CI/CD), and DevOps principles. Applies business knowledge to translate divisional initiatives into effective solutions by developing complex or multiple softwareapplications, andevaluating alternative approaches. Provides analysis and recommendations on project development policies, procedures, standards, and strategies to technical experts and management.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Participates in architecture design teams.

  • Defines and implements application-level architecture.

  • Develops applications on complex projects, components, and subsystems for the division.

  • Recommendsdevelopmenttesting tools and methodologies and reviews and validates test plans.

  • Responsible for QA readiness of software deliverables.

  • Develops comprehensive documentation for multiple applications or subsystems.

  • Establishes full project life cycle plans for complex projects across multiple platforms.

  • Responsible for meeting project goals on-time and on-budget.

  • Advises onrisk assessment and risk management strategies for projects.

  • Plans and coordinates project schedules and assignments for multiple projects.

  • Acts as a primary liaison for business units to resolve various project/technology issues.

  • Provides technology solutions to daily issues and technical evaluation estimates on technology initiatives.

  • Advisessenior management on technical strategy.

  • Mentors junior team members.

  • Performs independent and complex technical and functional analysis for multiple projectssup-portingseveral divisional initiatives.

  • Develops original and creative technical solutions toon-goingdevelopment efforts.

Education and Experience:

Bachelor's degree in Applied Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, Information Systems, or a closely related field (or foreign education equivalent) and five (5) years of experience as a Principal Software Engineer/Developer (or closely related occupation) performing software quality assuranceengineering, anddeveloping test automation to support the installation of web services into an operations environment within a Cloud based architecture.

Or, alternatively,Master's degree in Applied Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, Information Systems, or a closely related field (or foreign education equivalent) and three (3) years of experience as a Principal Software Engineer/Developer (or closely related occupation) performing software quality assuranceengineering, anddeveloping test automation to support the installation of web services into an operations environment within a Cloud based architecture.

Skills and Knowledge:

Candidate must alsopossess:

  • Demonstrated Expertise ("DE")developing Agile quality engineering plans for dynamic data management products and Spring based web application frameworks, using Cloud services and REST Assured; performing business and systems requirements analysis at the component level, translating requirements for end-to-end testing, designing and documenting results, and performing defect tracking and reporting, using SQL Server; and performing dynamic data querying and data virtualization, using Swagger and JIRA.

  • DEdesigning, developing, and implementing software automation frameworks and RESTful service applications in Java, using web application and procedural methodologies, Behavioral Data Driven (BDD) with Cucumber, TestNG, Git, Maven, and Jenkins CI/CD pipeline.

  • DEparticipating in software reinvention projects -- transforming systems from legacy platforms to Cloud architecture -- using Cloud services; performing quality assurance engineering using Cloud services, DevOps, Selenium Web Driver, Cucumber, Kafka, and Java; and performing data engineering using Cloud database -- DB2 or Oracle.

  • DEperforming test automation and version control, and implementing CI testing practices, using Git Stash and Jenkins; and performing Business Driven Development (BDD) using testing frameworks -- Gherkin, Cucumber, Selenium, REST, and SOAP web services.
