Tangram Flex is seeking a Solutions Engineer to support our Growth Team at the intersection of technology, mission, and customer engagement. This role is ideal for a technically strong, mission-oriented professional who can translate complex defense challenges into compelling, executable solutions.
You will work closely with Account Executives, Product, and Engineering to shape opportunities, influence customer requirements, and demonstrate how Tangram Flex's software, solutions and services solve critical integration, interoperability, and system complexity challenges across defense and national security programs.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES/
Customer Engagement & Solution Development
  • Partner with Growth and Account teams to qualify opportunities and shape technical strategies
  • Engage directly with Government customers, industry primes, and system integrators to understand mission needs, architectures, and constraints
  • Translate customer problems into tailored solution architectures leveraging Tangram Flex software, solutions and services
  • Lead technical discussions, whiteboarding sessions, and solution workshops with stakeholders

Pre-Sales & Capture Support
  • Develop and deliver compelling technical presentations, product demonstrations, and proof-of-concept solutions
  • Support proposal efforts including technical solutioning, technical solution narrative writing, and architecture diagram creation
  • Contribute to win strategies by aligning solutions with customer priorities (e.g., MOSA, interoperability, speed to field)

Technical Leadership
  • Act as a trusted advisor on software architecture, integration, and modular system design
  • Provide feedback to Product and Engineering teams based on customer needs and market signals
  • Help define reference architectures and reusable solution patterns

DESIRED SKILLS & EXPERIENCE/
Required:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Software Engineering or equivalent experience
  • Current/recent U.S. Government Security Clearance (or ability to obtain one). U.S. Citizenship is required.
  • 8-10 years of experience in software engineering, systems engineering, or solutions architecture
  • Familiarity with a variety of programming languages and software engineering tools and, to include C/C++/Java/Python/Rust in an Embedded Environment.
  • Experience in pre-sales, solutions engineering, or customer-facing technical roles
  • Deep familiarity with DoD systems, acquisition processes, and mission environments
  • Strong understanding of:
    • Software architecture (distributed systems, embedded systems, or mission systems)
    • Modular Open Systems Approach (MOSA)
    • System integration and interoperability challenges
  • Ability to communicate complex technical concepts clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences
  • Experience supporting proposals, RFIs/RFPs, or capture efforts
  • Ability to travel 25-50%
  • Ideal candidates in Dayton, Ohio, DC, or Maryland area

Physical Requirements:
  • Ability to travel to client sites, conferences, and lab environments.
  • Visual and auditory acuity to participate in meetings and customer demonstrations.
  • Ability to handle and transport demo equipment (up to 25 lbs).
