Job description

Position Summary:

We are seeking a skilled Construction Estimator to join our team, responsible for preparing and submitting detailed pricing and cost estimates for Underground Storage Tank (UST) and Aboveground Storage Tank (AST) installation and removal projects. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in pump and tank systems and experience estimating a broad range of construction activities, including both public and private RFPs.


Key Responsibilities:

● Prepare accurate and competitive cost estimates for UST/AST installation and removal projects. Review RFP documents, drawings, and specifications to determine scope and requirements.

Estimate additional project types including:

○ Oil/Water Separator (OWS) systems.

○ Environmental remediation projects.

○ Hydrogen fueling infrastructure.

○ General construction work.

● Coordinate with project managers, engineers, and subcontractors to gather pricing and scope information.

● Analyze labor, material, and time requirements for proposals.

● Submit bids and pricing proposals in accordance with client deadlines.

● Assist in value engineering and cost-saving initiatives where applicable.

● Maintain documentation of all estimates and proposals submitted.


Must-Have Skills & Qualifications:

● Extensive background in pump and tank systems.

● Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook, etc.).

● Strong understanding of construction means and methods, especially within environmental and fuel system sectors.

● Ability to interpret blueprints, specifications, and RFP documents.

● Excellent organizational and communication skills.

● Minimum of 5 years of relevant estimating experience.


Preferred Qualifications (Nice to Have):

● Experience with estimating software such as HeavyBid, Sage Estimating, or similar.

● Familiarity with regulatory requirements related to fuel systems and environmental compliance.

● Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience).

● Experience with BuildOps or Procore.
