Job description

Description
Position Overview
Since 1992, Tradesmen International has been the construction industry's premier Construction Labor Support Company, helping contractors greatly improve their workforce productivity while reducing their labor costs and recruitment efforts. We have organically grown our operations to over 100 locations across America, and our rapid growth has been made possible by an entrepreneurial spirit, our Employee First mentality, commitment to safety, and a dynamic, driven, and team-based culture.
We are now seeking a highly motivated, experienced National Sales Leader - Marine (Marine NSL) to join our team. This role is ideal for a marine industry professional who excels in direct sales while also coaching and developing a small, specialized sales team. This leader will be responsible for driving national revenue growth by expanding key customer relationships, reactivating dormant accounts, and delivering Tradesmen's marine staffing solutions to shipyards, marine contractors, and related facilities. This position plays a critical role in strengthening our presence in the Marine vertical by helping clients improve productivity, reduce labor-related costs, and access highly skilled, safety-focused marine craftworkers through our CORE + Flex workforce strategy.
The Marine NSL is a hands-on, revenue-generating leadership role, with more than 50% of time spent in active selling and customer-facing activities. This individual will maintain ownership of a small book of high-value marine customers while also training and supporting a small team of Marine sales representatives. Early in the role, the focus will be heavily weighted toward developing new business, leading customer engagements, and executing in the field. Over time, this position will play an important role in shaping national strategy for the Marine division by identifying market opportunities, enhancing sales execution, and partnering cross-functionally to ensure successful fulfillment of client workforce needs with Tradesmen's vetted, OSHA-trained marine craft professionals.
Key Responsibilities
Sales & Business Development
  • Drive profitable revenue growth within the Marine vertical through direct selling and business development efforts
  • Own a small portfolio of high-value marine customers, including responsibility for reactivating lapsed or underperforming accounts
  • Conduct in-person sales meetings, presentations, and negotiations with marine industry decision-makers
  • Generate leads through prospecting, referrals, networking, and participation in marine industry events and associations
  • Develop account and territory strategies focused on long-term revenue growth and customer retention

Leadership & Team Development
  • Lead, coach, and train dedicated Marine sales representatives
  • Conduct joint sales calls, field coaching, and skills development to improve sales performance
  • Reinforce best practices in marine industry sales, customer engagement, and opportunity management
  • Support accountability and performance aligned to revenue goals

Strategy, Collaboration & Execution
  • Partner with internal recruiting, operations, and workforce teams to support fulfillment strategies and customer satisfaction
  • Provide market insight into marine trends, customer needs, and competitive activity
  • Assist in the development of longer-term marine sales strategy as the business grows

Operational & Administrative Responsibilities
  • Maintain accurate client, opportunity, and account information within CRM systems
  • Attend required sales, operations, and leadership meetings
  • Assist with issue resolution, fulfillment coordination, and customer follow-up to ensure high-quality service delivery

Qualifications & Requirements
  • 3+ years of leadership experience in sales, preferably within marine trades staffing or a closely related marine industry
  • Proven success selling within the marine, maritime, shipyard, or marine construction environment
  • Strong balance of individual sales production and leadership capability
  • Demonstrated ability to build and maintain long-term customer relationships
  • Experience training, coaching, or leading sales professionals
  • Self-motivated, results-driven, and comfortable working in a fast-paced, field-based role
  • Strong communication, presentation, and organizational skills
  • Proficiency with CRM systems and standard business technology
  • Valid driver's license and willingness to travel up to 50%

Compensation & Benefits
Total Rewards include a competitive annual salary with bonus potential, company matched 401(k), paid time off and paid holidays, medical, dental, vision, short term disability, and voluntary supplemental life insurance.
