Senior Fleet Operations Technician

We are looking for someone with extensive hands-on physical and technical experience with Material Handling Equipment.This person will also have strong analytical skills to be able to support Fleet Solutions approvals, disputes, and customer conversations.

The Senior Fleet Operation Technician is responsible for reviewing customer fleet maintenance and repair invoices for technical standards and cost savings opportunities through our proprietary maintenance management system as well as loading and unloading equipment, performing repairs, cleaning, and preparing assets for remarketing.

We are seeking a senior-level, detail-oriented In-House Equipment Technician to support a wide range of OEM brands, makes, and models throughout the full equipment lifecycle.

This is a hands-on role requiring strong mechanical aptitude, physical stamina, and a thorough understanding of equipment condition, repair quality, and operational efficiency.

Essential Duties:

  • Equipment Handling & Remarketing Preparation

    • Load, unload, move, and stage equipment safely and efficiently.

    • Perform mechanical, electrical, and cosmetic repairs across multiple OEM brands and equipment types.

    • Clean, detail, and prepare equipment to meet internal and remarketing standards.

    • Inspect equipment for damage, wear, or operational issues and recommend corrective actions.

    • Support inbound and outbound logistics as equipment enters or exits the facility.

  • Warehouse & Inventory Management

    • Manage warehouse layout to maximize storage capacity and workflow efficiency.

    • Organize equipment, parts, and tools to support safe and efficient operations.

    • Maintain clean, orderly, and compliant warehouse conditions.

    • Coordinate equipment placement to support inspections, repairs, and remarketing timelines.

  • Maintenance Data & Cost Control Support

    • Review maintenance and repair invoices within the company proprietary fleet system.

    • Provide expert input on repair quality, scope, and necessity.

    • Identify opportunities for cost savings, process improvements, or alternative repair strategies.

    • Support data accuracy and consistency within the maintenance management system.

    • Collaborate with internal and external teams to address recurring repair trends or cost drivers.

    • Other duties as assigned.

Required Skills:

  • 5+ years of hands-on mechanical experience with industrial, construction, or material handling equipment.

  • Demonstrated ability to work across multiple OEM brands and equipment types.

  • Proficiency in reading and interpreting repair orders, maintenance records, and technical documentation.

  • Ability to operate forklifts, heavy equipment, and related material handling tools safely.

  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.

  • Basic computer proficiency for data entry and fleet system navigation.

Preferred Qualifications & Skills

  • Experience with fleet management software.

  • Background in equipment remarketing, auction preparation, or asset management.

  • Forklift certification and/or relevant trade certifications (ASE, OSHA 10/30, etc.).

  • Knowledge of cost analysis and maintenance cost benchmarking.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to lift, carry, push, and pull 50+ pounds on a regular basis.

  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, kneel, and work in a warehouse or shop environment.

  • Comfortable working around heavy equipment and machinery.

Work Environment:

  • Warehouse and shop setting.

  • Use of appropriate safety equipment and adherence to safety protocols required.
