Job description

Position Overview

The Beach Automotive Group is seeking an experienced and highly motivated Commercial Fleet & Government Sales Representative to join our growing automotive group. This role will focus primarily on commercial vehicle sales across our Ford, Chevrolet, and GMC franchises while developing and maintaining relationships within the government, municipality, public works, utility, and fleet sectors.

The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in commercial automotive sales, strong knowledge of fleet procurement processes, and experience working with local governments, municipalities, state agencies, and commercial accounts.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and grow commercial vehicle sales opportunities for Ford, Chevrolet, and GMC products.
  • Build and maintain relationships with municipalities, government agencies, public works departments, school districts, utilities, contractors, and fleet customers.
  • Identify and pursue bid opportunities, RFPs, and government procurement contracts.
  • Manage the entire sales process from prospecting and quoting to delivery and post-sale support.
  • Conduct fleet reviews and recommend vehicle solutions tailored to customer needs.
  • Collaborate with upfitters, body manufacturers, and equipment vendors to deliver complete fleet solutions.
  • Maintain a strong pipeline of commercial and government accounts.
  • Attend industry events, trade shows, procurement meetings, and networking functions.
  • Stay current on fleet incentives, government purchasing programs, and manufacturer commercial offerings.
  • Meet and exceed sales and gross profit objectives.
Qualifications

Required:

  • Minimum 3–5 years of successful commercial, fleet, or government vehicle sales experience.
  • Proven experience selling Ford, Chevrolet, GMC, or comparable commercial vehicle lines.
  • Strong understanding of municipal, government, and fleet purchasing processes.
  • Experience working with procurement departments, bid submissions, and contract purchasing programs.
  • Excellent relationship-building and business development skills.
  • Strong communication, presentation, and negotiation abilities.
  • Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and manage a territory.
  • Valid driver's license and clean driving record.

Preferred:

  • Existing relationships with municipalities, counties, state agencies, utilities, and commercial fleet operators.
  • Knowledge of chassis, vocational trucks, work trucks, fleet management, and vehicle upfitting.
  • Familiarity with cooperative purchasing programs and government contract vehicles.
