Job description

Orange County Market Launch

Company: Flatiron Build Co.

Location: Orange County, CA — centered around Irvine, with projects expected from San Clemente to Long Beach and east toward Fullerton

Compensation: $105,000–$120,000 base salary, plus performance-based bonus and profit-sharing opportunity

Total Earnings Potential: $200,000+ as the Orange County market scales

Job Type: Full-Time

About Flatiron Build Co

Flatiron Build Co is a fast-growing, systems-driven residential remodeling company expanding from Denver into Orange County, California.

We specialize in high-end residential remodeling, including kitchens, bathrooms, whole-home remodels, light structural work, and small additions. Our model combines strong construction fundamentals with a modern operating system: structured sales, clear estimating, project management software, 3D design tools, AI-supported workflows, and a premium customer experience.

We are not looking to simply hire a project manager.

We are looking for a growth-minded residential remodeling operator who can help launch, build, and lead our Orange County market alongside the founder.

This is a rare opportunity for someone who wants the upside and autonomy of helping build a new market, without having to start completely from scratch. You will be stepping into a proven operating model, active founder support, existing systems, and a market with strong demand for high-quality remodeling.

The Opportunity

This role is ideal for someone who has strong residential remodeling experience and wants more than a standard PM seat.

You may be a senior project manager, operations manager, licensed general contractor, construction leader, or remodeling professional who wants to help build a market, lead teams, and grow into a true GM/operator role.

In the early stage, you will work directly with the founder to:

  • Build the Orange County subcontractor and vendor network
  • Support sales consultations, estimating, and proposal development
  • Help launch the first projects in the market
  • Manage client relationships and project execution
  • Establish local processes, standards, and expectations
  • Help grow the location from the ground up

As the market scales, this role will evolve into the local market leader responsible for overseeing the team, client experience, project execution, and operational performance.

What You’ll Do

  • Help launch and grow the Orange County location for a high-end residential remodeling brand
  • Partner directly with the founder during the early sales, estimating, and production phases
  • Build, vet, and manage a reliable network of subcontractors, vendors, and trade partners
  • Support in-home consultations, client discovery, estimating, scope development, and proposal creation
  • Oversee residential remodeling projects from pre-construction through completion
  • Manage schedules, budgets, scopes, subcontractors, quality control, and client communication
  • Use JobTread or similar project management tools to keep jobs organized and transparent
  • Deliver a premium client experience for homeowners living through remodeling projects
  • Solve problems quickly, calmly, and professionally when issues arise in the field
  • Help establish scalable systems for sales, estimating, production, communication, and customer experience
  • Initially wear multiple hats, then help build and lead the local team as the market grows
  • Support future hiring of project managers, field support, and additional production roles as revenue scales

What We’re Looking For

We are looking for someone who understands residential remodeling, but who is also adaptable, systems-minded, and excited by growth.

The right person is not just a builder. They are a communicator, operator, problem solver, and leader.

Required Qualifications

  • Residential remodeling, residential construction, or design-build experience
  • Strong understanding of occupied-home remodeling projects
  • Ability to manage subcontractors, schedules, budgets, scopes, and client expectations
  • Comfortable participating in sales consultations, estimating, and proposal development
  • Strong customer-facing communication skills
  • Ability to build trust with high-end homeowners
  • Experience managing multiple moving pieces across sales, pre-construction, and production
  • Comfortable using project management, CRM, estimating, or field management software
  • Willingness to follow and improve structured systems
  • Ability to work throughout the Orange County market
  • Willingness to participate in initial training with the Denver team, if needed

Strongly Preferred

  • Active California Class B General Contractor license
  • Existing Orange County subcontractor, vendor, or permitting knowledge
  • Experience in high-end residential remodeling
  • Experience with kitchens, bathrooms, whole-home remodels, light structural work, and additions
  • Experience using JobTread, Buildertrend, CoConstruct, HubSpot, Monday, or similar systems
  • Experience helping launch, scale, or lead a branch, market, division, or business unit
  • Background in a systems-driven remodeling, design-build, home services, or franchise-style company
  • Bilingual English/Spanish

The Right Fit

You may be a strong fit if you:

  • Want to help build something, not just manage assigned projects
  • Have the construction knowledge to earn trust with clients and subcontractors
  • Enjoy improving systems, not resisting them
  • Can move between the field, the client, the estimate, the schedule, and the business plan
  • Are comfortable working closely with a founder in a high-growth environment
  • Take extreme pride in the customer experience
  • Know how to protect the client relationship while still managing scope, budget, and schedule
  • Can stay calm when a project gets messy
  • Are entrepreneurial, but still coachable
  • Want meaningful upside as the market grows

This Role Is Not For

This is not the right role for someone who:

  • Only wants to manage from the field
  • Wants to avoid sales, estimating, or client communication
  • Refuses to use software or structured systems
  • Is only interested in swinging tools or running punch-list work
  • Comes from commercial construction only and does not understand occupied-home remodeling
  • Wants to operate independently without following a proven process
  • Treats every project issue as an automatic change order opportunity
  • Is looking for a low-accountability branch manager seat
  • Has no interest in helping build a market from the ground up

We are not looking for an old-school owner/operator who wants to keep doing things the same way. We are looking for a growth-minded leader who can combine construction knowledge, customer care, and operational discipline.

Compensation & Growth

This role offers a base salary of $105,000–$120,000, plus performance-based bonus and profit-sharing opportunity.

As the Orange County market scales, total earnings potential can exceed $200,000+.

The long-term opportunity is to grow into the leader of the Orange County operation, with additional team members added as revenue grows.

  • Lucrative profit-sharing program tied directly to regional market growth.
  • Comprehensive paid time off including vacation, sick leave, and holidays.
  • Tech package including a company-provided smartphone or tablet.
  • Structured paid training programs and corporate career development initiatives.
  • Access to unique perks including annual company trips, outings, and sales contests.
  • Professional uniforms provided by the company.

Initial Training

Initial onboarding may include training with our Denver team to learn our:

  • Sales process
  • Estimating approach
  • Project management systems
  • Client experience standards
  • Subcontractor coordination process
  • Operating model
  • Technology stack

This training is designed to help the right person step into the Orange County market with clarity, confidence, and support.

Project Types

You will be working on high-end residential remodeling projects, including:

  • Kitchen remodels
  • Bathroom remodels
  • Whole-home remodels
  • Light structural work
  • Small additions
  • Interior remodeling projects in higher-end homes

This is not a ground-up new construction or commercial construction role.

Apply If

You are a residential remodeling leader who wants to help build and lead a new Orange County market with the support of a proven founder, strong systems, and real upside.

We want someone who can think like an operator, communicate like a trusted advisor, and execute like a builder.
