Job description

Full Time live-out French speaking Nanny required for a Flatiron family with an infant son (b. Dec 2025), starting around mid-May 2026. Specific duties to be negotiated with the family, but in general, you will be responsible for all child related duties including providing nurturing care and interacting with their son in an engaging, loving and age-appropriate way. To be successful, you will need to be experienced with infant + toddler care (+ beyond!), gentle mannered, patient and looking to partner long term with a busy dual working parent family. The ideal candidate is able to complete light, child related housekeeping duties (laundry, meal prep, organization, etc) and maintain all common areas in a clean and tidy state (Family does employ a Housekeeper). Candidates looking for a team oriented dynamic with first time parents would be a great match for this family! A warm, hands on, engaging nanny with education or equivalent practical knowledge of ages and stages of child growth and development is key to this role. Candidates must be fluent in both written and spoken French and English - the nanny should be comfortable communicating in French only with their son.

The family is looking for a long term commitment with a candidate who feels like a natural extension of their family and who will be welcomed into a warm and loving home!

Location: Flatiron, NY

Start date: around May 2026 (family flexible with start date for the ideal candidate)

Days/times: Monday to Friday: guaranteed 40 hours a week with general hours expected to land between 8.45am - 7pm (likely consistent 50 hours a week). Both parents work from home on Fridays - an opportunity for occasional shorter hours on Fridays possible. Some flexibility for additional hours during the week as needed is preferred. Candidates comfortable traveling with the family for vacations is required - this includes international, domestic as well as live-in support during the summer (and as needed) in the Hamptons.

Children: One infant son (born Dec 2025)

Conditions: $33 - $37 per hour* plus unlimited OMNY card, sick/personal days, public holidays and at least two weeks paid leave per year. *The family is open to speaking with exceptional candidates looking for a highly hourly rate (*dependent on experience) - all strong candidates are encouraged to apply!

For further consideration, applicants must possess the following:

  • Written and spoken fluency in both French and English
  • Authorization to work in the US
  • An ideal candidate has at least 5 years experience working with families with young children (with long term tenure)
  • Clean drivers license (no city driving) preferred (for independence while in the Hamptons) however family open to all strong candidates
  • A well-suited demeanor + recent experience working with infants
  • Exceptional childcare references that attest to strong communication skills, reliability, punctuality, and high emotional intelligence
  • Experience in partnering + supporting first time parents with infant and toddler milestones
  • A flexible schedule and ability/interest to support a busy, dual working parent household
