Logistics Driver – Flatbed Tow Operator | San Francisco, CA

Our client is operating a cutting-edge autonomous ride-hailing network — and when a driverless vehicle needs to be retrieved, repositioned, or staged, you're the person who makes it happen. This is a unique opportunity to play a hands-on operational role at a company that is actively reshaping the future of transportation.
Overnight Shift: 8:00 PM - 4:30 AM, M-F
What You'll Be Doing
Vehicle Recovery & Transport
- Safely recover, transport, and stage autonomous vehicles across the operational network
- Operate flatbed recovery equipment including winching, loading, unloading, and proper vehicle securement
- Transport vehicles with combined gross vehicle weights up to 26,000 lbs
- Maintain strong situational awareness during roadside recoveries in active traffic environments
Equipment & Compliance
- Perform pre-trip, post-trip, and daily inspections on recovery vehicles and equipment
- Handle routine servicing — refueling, fluid checks, tire pressure, and reporting maintenance concerns
- Maintain accurate driving, delivery, and inspection logs in full compliance with DOT Hours of Service requirements
Communication & Collaboration
- Coordinate with dispatch, logistics coordinators, and field operations on recovery status and operational needs
- Work cross-functionally to support fleet readiness and deliver a consistent, high-quality operational experience
What You Bring
Required
- Valid Class C driver's license with a clean driving record and no major violations
- Professional flatbed towing and vehicle recovery experience
- Ability to meet DOT medical and physical requirements including a valid Medical Examiner Certificate (MEC)
- Strong mechanical aptitude and attention to detail
- Ability to lift up to 35 lbs and comfortably enter and exit a tow truck throughout a shift
- Must pass a background check and drug screening
Preferred
- CDL preferred but not required
- 4+ years of professional flatbed or rollback tow experience
- Experience operating Dodge Ram 3500 platforms or similar rollback trucks
- High school diploma or GED
