GENERAL PURPOSE:
The New Stores Project Lead supports the opening of new stores for Ross and dd's. They coordinate multiple fixture, equipment, and signage installations each quarter. They collaborate with store and field leadership, Construction, IT, Finance, Fixture Purchasing, Store Planning and other partners to provide operational support, execute business processes, and keep documentation up to date including timelines, processes, manuals, and training materials. They execute projects per approved plans, identify and resolve issues, and adhere to best practices to minimize shortages and go-backs and provide a high level of service to stores.
The base salary range for this role is $81,000 - $121,800. The base salary range is dependent on factors including, but not limited to, experience, skills, qualifications, relevant education, certifications, seniority, and location. The range listed is just one component of the total compensation package for employees. Other rewards vary by position and location.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Project Planning
• Develops and supports project timelines and budgets, including creation of project plans, communication to key stakeholders, and assisting in the development of operational procedures.
• Coordinates requests for installer bids, and analysis of submittals, for review with leadership.
• Supports pre-opening preparations, including reviewing fixture plans and ensuring that all fixtures have been ordered. Issues the plan to installers for scheduled installations.
• Reviews site conditions and any municipal constraints on deliveries, and then partners with logistics vendor to ensure on-time delivery of fixtures, equipment, and signage.
• Leads kickoff meetings with stores, installers, and project partners. Recaps these meetings and drives resolution of action items.
Project Execution
• Leads fixture, equipment, and signage installations for multiple stores. Conducts daily store calls, reviews daily progress reports, and conducts daily video calls with installers, to ensure execution is to standard, accurate and high quality. Prepares daily project status reports to management.
• Maintain schedules to ensure deadlines are met. Coordinates the process of fixture, equipment and signage installation with Construction, Facilities, Loss Prevention, and other business partners that are executing scope of work in the same stores.
• Resolves issues timely within budget. Sends daily recaps of project progress including issue resolution status.
• Closely tracks projects costs within budget, coordinates approved change orders to address shortage and damage, and provides timely cost information to finance partners.
• Creates and tracks the project punchlist to ensure effective and timely closeout. Prepares and sends final project recap, including photo validation, to support documentation of satisfactory project completion.

QUALIFICATIONS AND SPECIAL SKILLS REQUIRED:
• BA/BS degree required.
• 3-5 years of experience
• Strong organizational skills, project management skills, and attention to detail
• Strong communication and collaboration with business partners and stakeholders
• Proficient in Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint, and Smartsheet
• High comfort level working in ambiguous, rapidly changing environments
• Outstanding work ethic; displays a high sense of urgency to resolve issues quickly and efficiently
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS/ADA:
Job requires ability to work in an office environment, primarily on a computer.
Requires sitting, standing, walking, hearing, talking on the telephone, attending in-person meetings, typing, and working with paper/files, etc.
Consistent timeliness and regular attendance.
Vision requirements: Ability to see information in print and/or electronically.
This role requires regular in-office presence, including to engage in in-person team interaction, meetings and collaboration, client support, mentoring, coaching, and/or feedback. However, this role can perform duties effectively using a combination of in-office and remote work.
Requires the ability to respond quickly and accurately to urgent requests for support on weekends, early mornings and evenings, during the new store opening process. #LI-Hybrid
