Position Description
The position of Project Foreman exists to safely execute the installation of projects associated with Doyle Electric, Inc. in a profitable manner. The Project Foreman is responsible for representing Doyle Electric, Inc. with clients, as well as providing leadership and direction to the team associated with the assigned projects. The work environment for this position typically, but not always, consists of new or existing commercial, medical, or industrial complexes. The position requires directing weekly safety meetings, providing relative and timely project reports to the Payroll Manager, Safety Manager, Superintendent, Project Manager and/or Director of Field Operations. This position demands a serious attention to detail with the ability to forecast, schedule and manage multi skilled labor, while professionally communicating with Doyle Electric, Inc. employees, employees and managers of General Contractors, and manufacturer representatives.
Job Responsibilities:
Responsible for the safe and profitable installation and execution of all aspects of assigned projects including Temporary Power; Demolition; HV Cable Wire Pulling, Installation, Testing, and Terminations; Underground and Above Ceiling Feeder Rough-In; Underground and Above Ceiling Branch Rough-In; Trenching and Floor Box Installation; Distribution; Feeder Wire Pulling, Splicing, Junctions, and Troubleshooting; Branch Wire Pulling, Splices and Junctions, and Troubleshooting; Special Systems Layout and Installation; Fixture Installation; Branch Device Trim-Out and Troubleshooting; and Mechanical
Equipment Installations.
  • Effectively manage daily production and hold crews accountable for progress, including the assigning of tasks to crew leaders and crew members.
  • Daily and weekly procurement of project material after large initial buyout (except for quoted packages), in an efficient and cost-effective manner. Accountability to project budget and order frequency, etc.).
  • Accountability for reporting weekly project labor hours per cost codes to Payroll Manager, and units installed to the Project Manager.
  • Direct weekly job site safety meetings, and targeted safety meetings when applicable. Notify Superintendent and or Safety Manager of any near-term specialized work requiring the need for Job Site Hazard Analysis and training such as LOTO, TCI's, Shutdowns and Power Swap Overs.
  • Conduct daily inspections of job site to ensure OSHA compliance and adherence to Doyle Electric, Inc.'s safety policies.
  • Keep daily log and photographic images to document progress/production, material deliveries, weather, employee attendance, equipment, and safety concerns.
  • Maintain team discipline and adherence to all of Doyle Electric, Inc.'s company policies.
  • Assist in the training and successful performance of designated Electricians, Apprentices and Helpers. Ensure all state and local building regulations are met or exceeded based on the current National Electrical Code.
  • Responsibilities with the Preconstruction Department:
  • Coordinate and collaborate on prefabrication opportunities and installation drawings.
  • Responsibilities with the Project Superintendent (Per Project Basis):
  • Work with Superintendent to identify tasks and durations for short-term interval planning and projected labor hours.
  • Identify and resolve potential field issues.

Manage daily production of job site employees.
  • Keep Superintendent informed of daily coordination with General Contractor and associated trades.
  • Review daily log on a weekly basis.
  • Review plans and project specifications for compliance.
  • Review feeder schedules, lengths, sizes, consolidation/routing prior to planning, installation, and material procurement.
  • Review submittals prior to release to ensure compliance with design intent, specification compliance, etc. and communicate release priorities.

Responsibilities with the Payroll Manager:
  • Report weekly labor hours prior to Monday morning.
  • Report vacations or special circumstances weekly if applicable.

Responsibilities with the Materials Manager:
  • Coordinate, in a timely manner, receipt of materials shipped to warehouse and use of surplus materials.

Responsibilities with the Safety Manager:
  • Accountable for the project adherence and compliance to all Doyle Electric, Inc.'s safety policies and OSHA regulations.
  • Work with safety manager to facilitate Job Safety Analysis, Targeted Safety Training, and Job Hazard Analysis. Maintain job site first aid kit, fire extinguisher, and all regulatory compliance paperwork and documentation.
  • Coordinate human resource issues between project crew member and Human Resource department.
  • Participate in the evaluation of team member's wages and performance evaluations.

Position Requirements
Job Requirements:
  • Ability to work full-time (40 hours per week), specific work schedule may vary.
  • Ability to follow direction from multiple supervisors and work together to enforce accountability for job site organization and cleanliness.
  • Provision of personal hand tools (including but not limited to 25' tape measure, channel locks, Kleins, wire stripper, utility knife, set of nut drivers, 10-and1- tool, hammer, pencil, Sharpie marker).
  • Ability to lift +/- 50 lbs., physically capable to work actively on feet for 8 hours per day, work in tight, confined spaces, work safely on ladders and on scissor lifts, articulating lifts, scaffolding, and other lift equipment.
  • Valid driver's license with good driving record.

Required / Preferred Certification and Training:
  • EWP Certification required.
  • Forklift Certification required.
  • General Electrical Safety Training required (Alliance Safety Council or another approved provider).
  • Fall Protection Safety Training required (Alliance Safety Council or another approved provider).
  • LOTO Training required (Alliance Safety Council or another approved provider).
  • Power Actuated Tool (PAT) Training required.
  • Defensive Driving Safety Training required.
  • Accident Reporting Training required.
  • First Aid & CPR/AED Training preferred.
  • NFPA 70E Arc Flash Training preferred.
  • NCCER Electrical Certification preferred.

This position, as do all field positions in Doyle Electric, Inc. requires a pre-employment drug screen and is subject to random drug/alcohol testing once employed.
