Job description

Fixed Income Specialist

JPMorganChase Asset & Wealth Management | U.S. Private Bank

About the Role

As a Fixed Income Specialist within the Market Strategy Group, you will serve as a senior subject matter expert on one of the most dynamic and high-impact teams within JPMorganChase's U.S. Private Bank. Our mission is straightforward: communicate our best ideas and help advisors deliver better client outcomes by making managed fixed income strategies understandable, easy to access, and simple to implement.

You will sit at the intersection of Markets, Sales, and Strategy - bridging institutional-grade insight with personalized client advice - working alongside a high-performing, collaborative team. This is a role for a seasoned fixed income professional who is equally comfortable analyzing markets, presenting to large audiences, and building trusted, lasting relationships with advisors and clients alike.

What You Will Do

Client, Advisor Partnership & Regional Coverage

  • Serve as the dedicated fixed income specialist for an assigned U.S. region (e.g., South, Midwest, West, or Southeast), supporting a network of 200-500 advisors across that footprint, with in-market travel of approximately 1-2 weeks per year coordinated around key client events and regional priorities.
  • Partner closely with advisors to understand their client base, identify opportunities for new business growth and retention, and participate directly in client meetings and events.
  • Serve as the senior leader for client events and meetings related to managed fixed income portfolios and market content, representing the team with credibility and authority.
  • Act as a trusted resource for advisors at all experience levels - from onboarding new advisors to engaging the most seasoned investment professionals - making complex fixed income concepts accessible and actionable.

Market Strategy, Thought Leadership & Education

  • Function as a platform-wide fixed income expert across approved Core, Advisory, SMAs, Active ETFs, mutual funds (JPM and third-party where offered), and solutions with fixed income-like attributes.
  • Author VIP notes and implementation guides (1-2 strategies at a time) that translate market views into clear, advisor-ready content.
  • Coordinate and present on Manager Insights Calls and national morning meetings, serving as a visible and authoritative voice for the team.
  • Facilitate advisor education through a broad range of formats including team huddles, regional calls, national morning meetings, videos, written commentary, and office hours.
  • Engage proactively with investment teams - including brokerage and Asset Management portfolio managers - to stay current on views, insights, and opportunities, particularly as they relate to quarterly investment themes.
  • Partner closely with the Fixed Income Strategy and Manager Selection teams globally to ensure alignment with current market positioning.

Business Development & Flow Generation

  • Partner with local and global leadership - including the Europe and Asia Fixed Income Specialist teams - to drive and retain long-term fixed income flows across the platform.
  • Work alongside Regional Portfolio Specialists (RPS) to ensure timely delivery of insight across asset classes and regions, with prioritization toward quarterly investment themes.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to develop new fixed income solutions that capitalize on market dislocations or address specific client needs.

Data, Analytics & Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Analyze flows, advisor behaviors, regional activity, and campaign data to uncover trends, measure impact, and guide team focus and strategy.
  • Work cross-functionally with JPMAM, Product, Legal, and Compliance to align efforts, accelerate approvals, and bring solutions to market efficiently.
  • Contribute to the development of digital content, client presentation decks, and asset class pitchbooks in partnership with the broader team.

What We Are Looking For

Experience & Expertise

  • 5+ years of fixed income experience in direct investing, client portfolio management, fixed income thought leadership, or a specialist/advisory capacity at an Asset Management firm, Wealth Manager, Investment Bank, or Institutional Investor (e.g., endowment, sovereign wealth fund).
  • Deep familiarity with managed accounts, SMAs, mutual funds, and both active and passive managers.
  • Technical fluency across fixed income markets including rates, credit, municipals, and multi-sector strategies.
  • Experience with Active ETFs and alternative fixed income structures is a plus.

Communication, Presence & Content Creation

  • Exceptional communication, presentation, and public speaking skills - able to articulate investment views with clarity and conviction across settings ranging from one-on-one advisor conversations to national calls and large-format conferences.
  • Demonstrated ability to author high-quality written content including strategy notes, implementation guides, and market commentary that advisors can put to work immediately.
  • Comfortable and compelling in both intimate advisory settings and large-format presentations.
  • Proficiency in PowerPoint and digital content creation tools.

Sales, Marketing & Relationship Management

  • Demonstrated track record in sales, marketing, business development, or client relationship management - ideally within a wealth management or asset management context, though strong candidates from adjacent backgrounds are encouraged to apply.
  • Ability to identify and convert opportunities while maintaining deep, trust-based advisor and client relationships over the long term.

Leadership, Collaboration & Character

  • A natural collaborator who works effectively across investment, product, legal, compliance, and sales teams, and brings executive-level presence and judgment to every interaction.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.
  • Self-motivated, proactive, and solutions-oriented - someone who identifies challenges and drives toward resolution without waiting to be directed.
  • Positive, energetic, and intellectually curious with a genuine passion for fixed income markets.
  • Sound judgment and discretion when handling confidential client and business information.
