Job description

This role requires the ability to work lawfully in the U.S. without employment-based immigration sponsorship, now or in the future.

Do you have a passion for navigating complex tax regulations and delivering precise financial solutions? As Manager, Income Tax at Spectrum, you will oversee tax provision calculations, drive compliance and reporting excellence, and contribute to strategic tax initiatives. Your expertise will directly shape Spectrum’s financial integrity and ensure regulatory confidence.


How You’ll Make an Impact

  • Prepare and review US tax provision in accordance with ASC 740, including FIN 48 calculations
  • Maintain and reconcile Spectrum’s deferred tax balances and current income tax expense
  • Assist in the preparation of the Spectrum's "tax footnote" and related disclosures including Audit Committee Reports
  • Research and recommend solutions to income tax accounting issues
  • Establish and maintain process controls for SOX compliance
  • Assist with various process enhancements to streamline and automate flow of data
  • Prepare and review supporting trial balances, fixed asset reports and other tax work papers
  • Prepare and review tax basis balance sheet reports and supporting documentation
  • Review consolidated corporate and partnership income tax returns
  • Interact with, communicate and respond to requests from other Spectrum departments, Corporate Audit Services and independent external auditors
  • Research/understand all pertinent changes in tax law related to federal income tax

What You’ll Bring to Spectrum
Required Qualifications
Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field
  • CPA

Experience

  • 5+ years of tax analysis, compliance, and reporting experience
  • 5+ years of ASC 740 experience

Skills

  • Demonstrated knowledge of US GAAP and technical accounting and reporting requirements including ASC 740 and IRS Code and Regulations
  • Ability to analyze and interpret data
  • Ability to communicate orally and in writing in a clear and straightforward manner, and with all levels of management and company personnel
  • Ability to make decisions and solve problems while working under pressure
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and tasks at one time
  • Ability to use personal computer and software applications (word processing, spreadsheet, etc.); including advanced Excel skills and familiarity with OneSource Tax Provision software
  • Ability to research and resolve technical tax issues
  • Ability to manage people as well as projects simultaneously
  • Ability to show judgment and initiative to accomplish job duties
  • Maintain confidentiality and prioritize effectively Knowledge of accounting theory

  • 3+ years of Big 4 experience
