Job description

Aon is looking for an Investment Manager Research Analyst:  Fixed Income and Private Credit

The Investment Manager Research Analyst will serve as the primary coverage lead on a select group of fixed income managers, and as subject matter expert in fixed income, while also supporting Aon’s proprietary fixed income and private credit funds.  

The successful candidate will be responsible for the following:

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for a select group of fixed income managers for Aon Investments USA.
  • Be a subject matter expert on those managers and fixed income in general for internal Aon investment colleagues, Aon consultants and Aon clients.
  • Provide quantitative and qualitative support to the broader global fixed Income team.
  • Support the initiatives and research priorities of the fixed income manager research team, while also actively debating and challenging investment views to ensure an idea meritocracy.
  • Support the fixed income portfolio manager(s) with analytical support, trading, reporting and completing client deliverables.
  • Be a liaison between various internal groups related to fixed income fund activity.
  • Demonstrate ability to learn new systems and become an in-house expert.
  • Actively participate in the continuous improvement of process efficiency.
  • Demonstrate initiative and ownership in completing projects.
  • Direct Private Debt experience a plus.

Qualifications:

  • A Bachelor’s degree in quantitively based discipline or proven analytical experience.
  • 5+ years of experience in a financial services environment.
  • Knowledge of fixed income, with the desire to learn and develop.
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to articulate complex ideas in simplified form.  
  • A proactive approach in delivering client and portfolio solutions.
  • Curiosity and enthusiasm to learn new methods and applications to drive new business opportunities.
  • Interest in pursuing CFA program.

Pay Transparency Laws: 

The salary range for this position intended for U.S. applicants is $85,000 to $120,000 annually. The actual salary will vary based on applicant’s education, experience, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity and alignment with market data.  The salary may also be adjusted based on applicant’s geographic location.  The actual salary may vary for applicants in a different geographic location.

This position is eligible to participate in one of Aon’s annual incentive plans to receive an annual discretionary bonus in addition to base salary.  The amount of any bonus varies and is subject to the terms and conditions of the applicable incentive plan.
