Who You'll Work With:
The Senior Investment Strategist & Head of Taxable Fixed Income US Retail, partners with both the investment team and distribution to promote and drive the growth of the fixed income business for AB. US Retail is an extremely important channel for AB and a key source of growth for our taxable fixed income businesses. This is a senior hire within the Fixed Income Business Development & Product Strategy team who will take responsible for the design and implementation of AB's business strategy, including the supporting the acquisition and servicing of clients in AB Fixed Income products.
What You'll Do:
  • Provide insights about AB fixed income strategies and capital market developments to existing and prospective clients
  • Focus on the positioning, marketing, and servicing for AB's Taxable fixed income platform in the US retail market, which includes a market leading suite of mutual funds, ETFs and SMAs
  • Serve as a spokesperson for the fixed income team at client meetings and events with the ability to demonstrate a deep understanding of AB's investment process, market outlook, and investment strategies
  • Grow and support the fixed income retail (and occasionally institutional) business across in the US in collaboration with AB's sales force.
  • Provide regular updates and training to internal stakeholders on fixed income market developments and portfolio strategies. Serve as a key on-the-ground fixed income resource to answer client questions on specific sales opportunities
  • Partner with Product Development on new products (or enhancement of existing products) that are relevant to assigned coverage
  • Identify areas for thought leadership that connect with product responsibilities. In partnership with other business development colleagues, continuously create new sales ideas/ways to advocate products (e.g. blog posts, thought leadership ideas)
  • Manage, mentor and develop a team of approximately 2 -3 members

What We're Looking For:
  • 10+ years of experience in the investment management industry with direct Investment Strategist / Client Portfolio Manager / Portfolio Specialist experience
  • A proven track record of successfully promoting fixed income investment strategies to prospects and clients in US retail channels
  • Strong technical knowledge of fixed income markets and macroeconomics trends. Intellectual curiosity about global capital markets and ability to find creative ways to connect with existing and prospective clients
  • An understanding of the US retail competitive landscape and buy-side industry trends for fixed income strategies across various channels. Contacts with key product selection decision makers and financial institutions' intermediaries a plus
  • Strong analytical skills, collaborative attitude, sense of ownership, strong prioritization skills and execution skills
  • A team player with highly developed interpersonal skills, including collaboration, negotiation, and influence
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Gravitas, ability to present credibly and resonate with clients across a wide range of client segments and settings, going from one-on-one meetings with sophisticated institutional investors to large groups with retail advisors or individual investors.
  • Strong marketing and messaging skills in order to maintain a compelling story for AB's fixed income franchise and individual products
  • Ability to prospect and close new business relationships in partnership with AB's retail relationship managers, institutional client advisors and global financial institutions team.
  • A desire to interact directly with both internal teams and external clients to influence their product knowledge and support AB's sales efforts.
  • Ability to work effectively under pressure while multitasking, adhering to tight deadlines, and maintaining strategic relationships with internal partners
  • Experience managing, mentoring and developing junior talent
  • Detail-oriented and organized
  • Advanced business degree in fields such as Economics/Finance, relevant industry certifications (e.g. CFA, CAIA) a plus
