Job Description The City of Renton has an exciting opportunity for a Finance Analyst 1 position within our Finance Department. As a Finance Analyst I, you will support the City's financial planning and operations by preparing financial analyses, developing reports, supporting accounting and financial processes, and providing analytical assistance to departments across the organization. This role plays an important part in helping ensure accurate financial reporting, informed decision-making, and efficient delivery of City services.

This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated, detail-oriented professional who enjoys problem-solving, working with financial data, and making a meaningful impact in the community through public service. Minimum Requirements EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, AND LICENSE REQUIREMENTS: Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration or related field. Or 4 years of relevant education and experience.

TELEWORK PROGRAM The City of Renton supports workers performing in a hybrid capacity partial telework/in-office) where job responsibilities can be performed remotely.

Maintain sub-ledgers for various systems and prepare billing information to accounts receivable for processing, including but not limited to supplemental development fees, EIS fees, airport leases, and miscellaneous utility work order billing. Monitor and reconcile account balances; prepare necessary adjusting entries. Maintain routine schedules for journal entries, cash transfers, and billing purposes.

Prepare financial statements including balance sheets, income statements, and statements of cash flow. Update and maintain fixed assets system, job costing system, equipment rental system, indirect rate allocation, insurance premium calculation, and other systems and schedules. Assist with budget and financial report preparation, production, and distribution, including preparation of summary schedules, statistical tables and charts; data input and verification; copying and printing assistance; layout and design of forms; conduct surveys and comparisons of fees and rates charged by surrounding jurisdictions; respond to surveys and questionnaires from other departments, jurisdictions, and businesses.

Perform back up and other supplemental duties of Accounting Assistants as requested. Contribute to an environment of teamwork and respect. Foster a culture of equity and inclusion by recognizing the diverse needs and perspectives of groups and individuals.

Remain current with relevant technological advancements as it relates to field. Participate in and help provide cross-training in processes as directed by management to ensure a well-rounded team for coverage purposes.
