Job description

Operations is one of the largest divisions in the firm and has diverse responsibilities, including correctly settling and recording millions of transactions per day, identifying and mitigating all operational risks, developing strong client relationships and partnering with technology to realize the full potential of IT and e-solutions. Throughout, the Operations department continually seeks ways to improve while actively supporting the development of new businesses, structures and markets. Global Wealth Management Operations provides brokerage, investment and financial services to hundreds of thousands of individual investors. We apply our expertise in serving institutional clients to create new opportunities for people to achieve their personal financial goals. Morgan Stanley has one of the largest retail brokerage networks, with numerous worldwide representatives and retail locations. Our services are tailored to each client's investment objectives, risk tolerance, and financial needs. Products include mutual funds, stocks, bonds, and alternative investments where appropriate, as well as banking, mortgages, insurance and annuities.
The Fixed Income Trade Support and Service team (FITSS) is responsible for providing direct operational and client service support across the full trade lifecycle of the Fixed Income and Precious Metal order process. This role entails heavy interaction with financial advisors, MSWM trading desks, and sales. The FITSS Associate would be responsible for the day-to-day support of the trade lifecycle, including order entry exception management, trade adjustments, reconciliation and Precious Metals Operations. The team provides operational coverage to the trading, underwriting and structuring of securities executed in Fixed Income. This includes the trade capture, reconciliation, documentation and settlement of proprietary and liquidity transactions executed by various trading desks. The essential focus of this team is to ensure all operational risks are recognized and managed and that internal controls are complete and operating effectively.

Requirements
- Bachelors Degree
- General knowledge of financial markets and investment products, specifically Equities, Options, and Fixed Income
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Self-motivated with a high degree of attention to detail
- Ability to adapt in fast paced environment with focus on innovation and flexibility
- Efficient time management skills and ability to prioritize competing urgent tasks
- Team player with the ability to work effectively in a team or independently
- Ability to quickly learn and apply knowledge
- Demonstrated relationship building skills with stakeholders, peers, and all levels of management
- Strong reasoning and problem-solving skills
- Ability to think and act like an owner
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, VBA a plus
