School Based Therapist

Overview
Spring River Mental Health amp; Wellness, Inc. is a Certified Community Mental Health Center located in Cherokee County, KS with offices located in Riverton and Columbus. Spring River is a National Health Service Corp. Site for HRSA Loan Repayment Opportunities for candidates that qualify.
This is a year-round position serving clients and families in the school, home, clinic and community.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
  1. To assess, diagnose, and treat mental health disorders in children and adolescents and provide quality, compassionate and ethical services in accordance with a level of care model.
  2. Administration and interpretation of screening tools, psychological tests, and other assessment instruments as licensed.
  3. Ability to develop, monitor and evaluate progress towards treatment plan goals.
  4. Ability to complete clinical documentation requirements in the electronic health record in accordance with agency policy.
  5. Ability to provide services in the outpatient clinic, the designated school districts and work collaboratively with school officials.
  6. To identify and assist clients access additional community resources necessary to attain treatment goals and progress towards recovery.
  7. To serve in the afterhours Mobile Crisi Response weekly rotation approximately 4-5 times per year.
Performance Requirements:
  1. Maintain current knowledge of the theories and evidence-based practices in psychotherapy.
  2. Knowledge of community resources and referral agencies.
  3. Basic understanding of rehabilitation services and ability to work within a multidisciplinary team.
  4. Ability to meet client service expectations.
  5. Support and assist other professionals in and out of the agency in their efforts to assist people with mental disorders.
Job Qualifications:
1. Minimum of 21 years of age.
2. Masterโ€™s degree required in psychology, social work, counseling or marriage and family therapy and be currently licensed or eligible for licensure by the Kansas Behavioral Sciences Regulatory Board.
3. Prior professional experience working with children and families strongly preferred.
4. Satisfactory completion of pre-employment background checks and drug screening.
5. The school-based therapist should have skills in the following areas: assessment, diagnosis, treatment planning and psychotherapeutic treatment of children, adolescents and adults with mental disorders, trauma informed care, screening and referral of individuals with substance use disorders.
