Job description

WALK-IN WEDNESDAY

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Removes trash from work area during shift
  • Cleans, sanitizes, stores and transports all China, glassware, utensils, silverware, pots and pans
  • Ensures kitchens, restaurants, and group events have the daily and requested equipment and supplies
  • Ensures proper set-up for group events
  • Operates industrial dishwashing machine and other industrial cleaning equipment
  • Transports kitchen equipment and supplies to various areas of Rivers Casino
  • Sanitizes and cleans all kitchen floors, tilt kettles, and tables in food preparation areas
  • Cleans and sanitizes TDR tables, chairs, and surroundings as assigned
  • Maintains stock levels of all food items in the TDR
  • Uses industrial strength cleaning chemicals
  • Pulls floor mats by request in the dish room, pot areas, and all restaurants
  • Ensures accurate inventory of supplies
  • Breaks down and stores daily food and supply deliveries for TDR and Stewarding
  • Ensures proper FIFO procedures are followed when storing daily deliveries
  • Maintains a high degree of sanitation in work stations
  • Keeps food areas free of debris and trash at all times
  • Reports to work on time
  • Communicates with Supervisor when there are supply shortages
  • Ensures thorough communication between shifts
  • Remains up to date on all Departmental Policies and Procedures
  • Complies with all departmental rules, side work assignments, and departmental procedures
  • Gives excellent internal and/or external guest service and proactively seeks ways to improve service
  • Performs all other duties as assigned

Qualifications:
  • Illinois Food Handler Certification required
  • Must possess outstanding interpersonal communication skills to effectively interface with team members
  • Must possess the ability to work under pressure and with a sense of urgency
  • Must possess a cooperative, helpful and friendly nature
  • Maintains a neat, clean, well-groomed appearance
  • Ability to work overnight shifts including holidays. Understands that schedules may change.
  • Frequent walking, sitting, standing, bending, twisting, lifting, and kneeling
  • Finishes job duties in a timely fashion according to department time standards
  • Ability to work within the following conditions: wet floors, temperature extremes, and loud noise
  • Must be able to frequently move, carry, lift, pull and push objects up to 50 lbs.
