Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP)Homer, Alaska*


POSITION OVERVIEW
Opportunity Type: Permanent Placement | Full-Time
Start Date: ASAP
Schedule: Monday – Friday | No weekends | No on-call | Choice of five 8-hour days or four 10-hour days
Setting: Outpatient Primary Care | Ambulatory Clinic
Patient Population: Adults and pediatric — Native and non-Native community members
Location: Homer, AK

Base Salary: Competitive salary and benefits

ROLE & RESPONSIBILITIES
This full-time Family Nurse Practitioner opportunity serves a mission-driven federally recognized Tribal health organization delivering quality, culturally appropriate primary and preventive care to the communities of the South Kenai Peninsula. The role offers a rewarding blend of clinical practice, patient advocacy, and community health education in a truly unique Alaskan setting.
Clinical Responsibilities

  • Provide comprehensive acute and chronic primary care and preventive health services to patients and families across all age groups
  • Diagnose and manage a broad range of primary care conditions within scope of practice
  • Participate in counseling for chronic and infectious disease patients including treatment planning and ongoing medical management
  • Function as a patient advocate — coordinate follow-up care and referrals to ensure continuity across the care continuum
  • Coordinate and facilitate support groups, health education initiatives, and health promotion activities related to physical and emotional wellness
  • Participate in strategic planning and policy and procedure development
  • Contribute to the Continuous Quality Improvement (CQI) program as needed

Travel Requirements

  • Travel to Anchor Point (by car) and Seldovia (by small aircraft or boat) required on a day-trip basis
  • Inclement weather may occasionally require an overnight stay

REQUIREMENTS

  • Master of Science in Nursing with Family Nurse Practitioner certification from an approved national certifying body
  • Active Alaska APRN license or ability to obtain within 3 months of hire
  • Active, unrestricted DEA certification
  • Comfortable serving diverse patient populations including Native Alaskan communities
  • Must pass pre-employment drug screen and background check including fingerprinting
  • Clean malpractice and license history required
