Job description

Warehouse Associate Position

Position for our Boston facility.

The warehouse associate is responsible for the loading and unloading of delivery vehicles, encompassing both outgoing and incoming shipments. Primary tasks include selecting products from the warehouse, loading and securing goods onto pallets, transporting inventory to the designated delivery area, and efficiently loading merchandise. Additionally, the associate will be required to unload stock from delivery vehicles and appropriately store it in specified warehouse locations. It is imperative to maintain a clean and orderly work environment while adhering to all applicable safety regulations, policies, and procedures. To achieve success in this role, the ability to follow instructions and operate in an organized manner is essential. Ideal candidates will demonstrate a strong work ethic, focus, and exceptional problem-solving capabilities.

Responsibilities

  • Ensuring the cleanliness, organization, and safety of the work environment is of utmost importance. • Facilitating the loading and unloading of delivery vehicles. • Receiving inventory deliveries. • Accurately counting and verifying inventory. • Inspecting inventory for any damages or defects. • Communicating discrepancies to the appropriate parties. • Labeling and marking stock items. • Storing inventory in a manner that ensures accessibility. • Loading and wrapping stock on pallets. • Constructing loads utilizing a forklift and an electronic pallet jack. • Performing additional duties as assigned.

Minimum Requirements

  • Candidates must be 18 years of age or older.
  • A high school diploma or its equivalent is required.
  • Prior work experience as a general laborer is preferred, particularly in a refrigerated warehouse environment.
  • Proficiency in operating a forklift is essential.
  • Successful completion of a background investigation and drug screening is mandatory.
  • Candidates should possess strong interpersonal skills.
  • Applicants must demonstrate good moral character.
  • A willingness to work in a cold climate, with temperatures around 35ºF, is necessary.
  • Physical requirements include the ability to lift up to 49 pounds, with or without reasonable accommodation, and to stand or walk for up to 8 hours per shift. Candidates should be able to frequently push, pull, bend, squat, and reach.
  • Individuals must be physically strong, agile, and dexterous, with the ability to work at heights and in adverse climatic conditions.
  • A positive work history and the ability to maintain reliable attendance are essential.
  • Availability to work extended hours, as required, is expected.
  • Safety is paramount; therefore, the ability to operate a forklift, reach truck, and electric pallet jack competently is required.
