Packing Associate

We delight customers with the finest selection of fresh seafood, prime, dry-aged beef, chef-prepared specialties and handcrafted pastries, international cheeses, imported groceries, and more. Join our team of seasoned professionals and become a part of the fabric of the New York food scene.

We are seeking a detail-oriented and dependable Packing Associate to ensure products are packed accurately and maintained in proper conditions prior to shipment. This role is responsible for inspecting product quality, verifying dates and labeling, measuring and preparing materials, and maintaining a clean, organized work environment.

Responsibilities & Duties:

Pack the products in the proper table, temperatures and/or environment Ensure the product is quality before packing Inspect all dates, labels and quantity of all products Label merchandise with proper signage before shipping to stores Clean containers, materials, supplies, or work areas, using cleaning solutions and hand tools. Measure, weigh, and count products and materials. Mark and label containers, container tags, or products, using marking tools. Place or pour products or materials into containers, using hand tools and equipment. Report to work at the scheduled time, neatly groomed and in the correct uniform. In addition, other duties maybe required as directed by your manager.

Minimum Requirements

  • Minimum of 6 months to 1 year with packing.
  • Ability to retain product knowledge.
  • Ability to act with a sense of urgency and remain productive in a fast-paced environment.
  • Must possess problem solving skills.
  • Empowered team player willing to assist fellow associates.

Additional Requirements:

  • Report to work at the scheduled time, neatly groomed, and the in the correct uniform
  • The associate is occasionally required to sit, stand, reach, lift, bend, kneel, stoop, climb, push and pull items weighing 20–75 pounds.
  • The position requires manual dexterity, visual skills, and the ability to follow written and oral instructions and procedures.
  • Ability to work within temperature-controlled environments.
  • Handling and controlling cleaning supplies.
  • Maintain a clean and safe environment by following Citarella and DOA standards
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule including nights, weekends and holidays.
  • Other duties may be assigned as business needs change.
