Position Summary
The Expeditor plays a critical role in ensuring the smooth flow of communication and food service between the kitchen and front-of-house teams. This position is responsible for organizing, verifying, and coordinating food orders to ensure accuracy, quality, presentation, and timely delivery to guests. The Expeditor serves as the final quality checkpoint before food leaves the kitchen and helps maintain an efficient and collaborative service environment during high-volume operations.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities
  • Coordinate and organize food tickets to ensure timely and accurate order execution
  • Verify all food items are prepared according to specifications, presentation standards, and guest modifications before leaving the kitchen
  • Communicate clearly and effectively with kitchen staff, servers, bartenders, and management during service
  • Ensure orders are complete and properly garnished prior to delivery to guests
  • Monitor ticket times and assist in maintaining efficient kitchen flow during peak service periods
  • Act as a liaison between front-of-house and back-of-house teams to quickly resolve order discrepancies or delays
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of the expo line and surrounding work areas
  • Assist with running food to tables when needed to support overall guest experience
  • Support teamwork across all restaurant operations and assist where business needs require
  • Follow all food safety, sanitation, and workplace safety procedures
  • Maintain a positive attitude and professional demeanor, embodying Nick's values of Excellence, Teamwork, Respect, and Accountability

What We're Looking For
  • Minimum 1-2 years of prior Previous restaurant, food runner, expo, or kitchen experience preferred
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high-volume environment
  • Strong communication, organization, and multitasking skills
  • Strong attention to detail and sense of urgency
  • Ability to remain calm and professional under pressure
  • Availability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as business demands require

Physical Requirements
Working as a Expeditor at Nick's requires energy, agility, and great customer service. Candidates must be able to:
  • Stand and walk for extended periods (6-8 hours per shift)
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 25 pounds regularly
  • Frequent reaching, bending, stooping, and repetitive hand movements

Compensation
This position starts at $15.00 per hour or commensurate with experience.
