Job description

We are seeking a Family Law Associate Attorney with 3+ years of litigation experience to join a compassionate and client-focused law firm dedicated to helping families through challenging legal matters. This opportunity is ideal for an attorney who is passionate about family law, enjoys courtroom advocacy, and is looking to grow as a litigator in a collaborative and supportive environment.

Responsibilities

  • Manage family law matters from intake through resolution, including trial preparation when necessary.

  • Represent clients in divorce, child custody, parenting time, child support, paternity, protective orders, CHINS/DCS matters, prenuptial agreements, relocation, contempt, and modification proceedings.

  • Draft pleadings, motions, discovery, affidavits, settlement proposals, correspondence, and other legal documents.

  • Conduct legal research and develop case strategies tailored to client objectives.

  • Represent clients at hearings, mediations, conferences, and court proceedings.

  • Negotiate settlements and advocate effectively during emotionally sensitive disputes.

  • Meet with clients to provide legal guidance and manage expectations throughout the litigation process.

  • Communicate professionally with opposing counsel, court personnel, clients, and third parties.

  • Maintain organized case files and ensure compliance with court deadlines and procedural requirements.

  • Collaborate with paralegals, legal assistants, and attorneys to deliver exceptional client service.

  • Manage attorney administrative responsibilities, including billing and case management.

Qualifications

  • Active license to practice law in the State of Indiana.
