You'll also learn how to read blueprints, follow safety procedures, and maintain tools and equipment. Most of your training will be hands-on, often under close supervision, allowing you to gradually develop technical skills and electrical knowledge. Expect to work both indoors and outdoors, in a variety of settings such as homes, businesses, or construction sites, and to collaborate with other apprentices and skilled tradespeople. This foundational experience prepares you for more complex duties and advancement in your electrical career.

To thrive as a First Year Electrician Apprentice, you need basic math skills, manual dexterity, and a high school diploma or equivalent, as well as the physical ability to perform hands-on electrical work.
