We are seeking a passionate, dynamic, and experienced Environmental Litigation Associate Attorney to join our legal team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in litigation with a focus on environmental law. This is a permanent, full-time position that offers an excellent opportunity to work on high-stakes environmental litigation cases, and to make a significant impact on environmental policy and protection.
Responsibilities:
  • Provide legal counsel and representation to clients in environmental litigation matters.
  • Conduct thorough and efficient discovery to gather necessary evidence and information.
  • Handle complex civil matters, including those related to environmental regulations and policies.
  • Draft and argue motions in court, utilizing strong motion practice skills.
  • Utilize knowledge of Article 78 proceedings to challenge decisions made by administrative agencies.
  • Collaborate with other attorneys, paralegals, and legal assistants to ensure the best outcome for clients.
  • Stay updated on current environmental laws and regulations, and advise clients accordingly.
  • Develop strategies for handling litigation cases, and represent clients in court.
  • Participate in settlement negotiations, and advocate for the best interests of clients.
  • Conduct legal research and analysis, and prepare legal documents such as briefs and pleadings.

Qualifications:
  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
  • Must be a licensed attorney in good standing with the NY state bar.
  • Minimum of 3-7 years of experience in environmental litigation.
  • Environmental Litigation Experience
  • Experience with Discovery, Memos of law, Affidavits, Article 78 proceedings, and motion practice.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to handle large amounts of information.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • High level of professionalism and ethical standards.
  • Excellent organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple cases and deadlines simultaneously.
  • Strong commitment to environmental protection and sustainability.
