Funky Buddha Brewery, located in Oakland Park, Florida, is seeking a Part-Time Restaurant Host to join its growing team. Established in 2010 at its Boca Raton brewpub, Funky Buddha is known for pushing the boundaries of traditional brewing methods with culinary-inspired recipes utilizing all-natural, food-centric ingredients. Some of its best-known beers include flagships Hop Gun IPA and Floridian Hefeweizen.  This fast-growing company is the first production brewery in the greater Fort Lauderdale area and the largest brewery in South Florida and is positioned for rapid expansion over the next few years.

Job Summary

We are looking for a friendly, organized, and energetic Restaurant Host to create a welcoming first impression and ensure every guest enjoys an exceptional dining experience from arrival to departure. As the first and last point of contact for our guests, the Host plays a key role in creating a positive dining experience by managing reservations and waitlists, coordinating seating throughout the dining room, and supporting the overall flow of restaurant operations.

Essential Functions

The essential functions include, but are not limited to, the following:

• Welcome every guest with a warm, genuine greeting and positive attitude.
• Manage reservations, walk-in guests, and waitlists accurately and efficiently.
• Provide accurate wait time estimates and keep guests informed throughout their wait.
• Escort guests to their tables while maintaining an organized seating rotation.
• Present menus and introduce guests to their assigned server.
• Communicate seating assignments, guest requests, and special occasions with servers and managers.
• Monitor dining room flow and table availability to maximize seating efficiency and guest satisfaction.
• Assist with resetting tables and maintaining a clean, organized entrance and host stand.
• Answer phones professionally and assist with reservations and guest inquiries.
• Provide information about menu offerings, restaurant amenities, and current promotions.
• Assist guests with accessibility needs, directions, and other requests.
• Support servers, bartenders, bussers, and managers during busy service periods.
• Thank guests as they leave and invite them to return.
• Follow all company policies, safety procedures, and sanitation standards.

Qualifications

• Previous restaurant or hospitality experience is preferred but not required.
• Friendly, outgoing personality with exceptional customer service skills.
• Strong communication and interpersonal abilities.
• Ability to remain calm, organized, and professional in a fast-paced environment.
• Excellent multitasking, time management, and problem-solving skills.
• Reliable, punctual, and team-oriented.
• Ability to stand and walk for extended periods and perform the physical demands of the position.
• Flexible availability, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to stand and walk for extended periods throughout scheduled shifts.
• Ability to bend, reach, stoop, and move throughout the dining room as needed.
• Ability to occasionally lift and carry up to 25 pounds.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-volume restaurant environment.
